The Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated Enterprise Testing program at the corporate level. Independent Testing and Validation is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing; and conducting horizontal reviews. Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the Enterprise Testing methodology, standards, and executing group specific testing.


The Independent Testing and Validation Team is seeking a Senior Lead Independent Testing Officer to support IT&V Chief Operating Office testing team.

In this role, you will:

  • Leads and manage complex customer remediation testing engagements operationally and from a Data management and Code perspective pertaining to wide array of Business verticals
  • Review and perform detailed code reviews, identifying anomalies and other potential data quality concerns
  • Prepare impeccable documentation concerning validation activities including data acquisition procedures and results of detailed code reviews
  • Excellent communication skills in order to lead Kickoff , Walkthrough, Status checkpoint and issue resolution calls for Validations as well assisting junior staff with their communications touchpoints
  • Testing SME with considerable risk and business acumen, and functional knowledge of procedures, risks, controls, compliance, testing, assessment of findings, escalation and reporting.
  • Possesses considerable knowledge of risk profile of engagement review’s subject matter (i.e. LOB, Enterprise Function, risk program, etc.).
  • Leads assessment of adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and control environment.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics skills and specialized knowledge to independently research issues relating to data integrity driving to root cause
  • Responsible for determining engagement’s scope and approach for engagement management approval.
  • Oversees engagement execution activities and performs quality reviews, assesses and escalates findings, provides credible challenge to remedial actions, and follows through on reporting and resolution per procedural guidance.
  • Leads report preparation, review, and distribution activities ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with procedures.
  • Leads internal (IT&V) and external (business partners, audit, compliance, industry risk partners, regulators, etc.) collaborative activities in support of engagement’s needs.
  • Builds and owns constructive relationships exercising effective communication behaviors supporting wide-ranging engagement review activities.
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Provide credible challenge and recommendations to IT&V Leadership as needed.
  • Mentor and coach team members.
  • Conduct thorough Quality Check reviews for Customer Remediation Validation documentation workbooks completed by other team members
  • Foster relationships with team and collaborate across other all T&V teams effectively
  • Develop and design methodologies and standards for review activities across the enterprise in alignment with Risk Management Framework
  • Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies
  • Identify potential corrective actions, reporting, escalation, and resolution
  • Perform low to moderate risk quality reviews
  • Raise schedule delays to the review activity lead with proposed resolution plans
  • Lead implementation of complex initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple business lines
  • Lead high risk or complex review activity engagements in a matrixed environment, and communicate emerging risks to management
  • Create schedules for control reviews and consults on scheduling and capacity planning across the team
  • Assess, document, and communicate trends on emerging risks, themes, and identified issues
  • Partner with internal business and other business units, audit, legal, regulators, and industry partners on risk related topics
  • Lead project or virtual teams

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Preferred to have testing experience with SQL , SAS and experience in gathering, analyzing and interpreting large datasets in Audit, Risk , Analytics and Technology
  • Good to have working experience on Toad, Python, VBA
  • Intermediate / Expert level Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products, and internal controls; and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations.
  • Experience at a public accounting firm with experience in business process, regulatory, or audit and or business process.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in financial industry.
  • Specialized knowledge or prior regulatory compliance testing or review experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy and an ability to credibly challenge the status quo.
  • Strong ability to research, trend, and analyze data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with various levels of management including senior executive level leaders.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills, especially with difficult topics when partnering with lines of business and technology, including the willingness and ability to question decisions, understand direction and escalate issues, where necessary.
  • Demonstrated success with influencing business units to identify, formulate and implement processes/procedures to mitigate.
  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability.
  • Ability to adapt and rapidly adjust to changes in the environment.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

One or more of the following certifications is desired:

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
