This Senior Lead will be responsible for a newly expanded function responsible for standing up the Data Governance functions across Personal Lending (Personal Loans and Private Label Credit Card). The role will support all areas across Personal Lending including Product, Marketing, Operations, Shared Services, Credit Risk and Finance as well as partner with the Analytics, Campaign Marketing, and Reporting verticals delivering across these critical areas:
• Data Validation, Data Defect and Issue Remediation
• Data Governance including Controls, Procedures and Documentation Monitoring and Oversite
• Managing Sub Domains and ABO’s
• EUCT Oversight
This is a highly visible strategic leadership role requiring an ability to help create and build the Data Management and Governance strategy from the ground up. Personal Loan and Retail Services data experience is highly preferred, however candidates with a strong background performing data governance activities in the financial services/banking industry will be strongly considered. In addition, the lead will have an ability to work cross functionally with business and technical partners which may include those offshore.
In this role, you will:
- Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs
- Design and conduct highly complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality or integrity issues and to identify and remediate process or control gaps
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
- Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
- Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
- Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
- Represent team in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
- Partner with groups companywide to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience with data validation, defect identification, and/or data remediation
- Experience with control monitoring
- Experience organizing and updating metadata
- Experience extracting data for evaluation
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of data management concepts, processes, tools, infrastructure, and environments
- Knowledge and understanding of data governance program development and implementation in a large organization across multiple business functions
- Demonstrate strong communication skills
- Experience with SAS, Python, SQL, or equivalent data query tool
- Strong understanding of Management Reporting. Proficiency with data flows, report outputs, and data dictionaries
