As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated regression test scripts for the Technology Enablement and Engineering product. You will leverage your API automation testing experience to provide test coverage analysis, design and author the test suites effectively, and execute smoke and detailed test suites. You will make an impact by leveraging your experience with Splunk or Kibana to identify issues and exceptions in the system and ensuring tests cover these systems by prioritizing and organizing the most important test scenarios.
In this role, you will:
Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables for automated regression testing within technical domain environments
Contribute to large scale planning of strategies by leveraging understanding of use cases and building end-to-end automated integration testing
Design, code, test, debug, and document automated regression testing for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of test automation, identification of defects and writing detailed documentation on the defect
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients’ needs while leveraging solid understanding of managing the execution of the test suite to identify efficiencies in execution of test suites
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers for code reviews and analysis to evaluate and determine gaps in test coverage and enhance the test suites to cover the gaps
Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff for execution of test suites
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
3+ years of automation testing experience
4+ years of Java programming experience
4+ years of NodeJS experience
3+ years of Groovy experience
3+ years of experience developing modern test frameworks
3+ years of experience with Integrated Development Environment (IDE) in IntelliJ or Eclipse
3+ years of experience with API and Performance testing
3+ years of experience with keyword driven and data driven frameworks for test automation
2+ years of experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Oracle
3+ years of experience in Java tech stack and authoring test automation using REST Assured, Cucumber/Karate
3+ years of experience with microservices and test automation using REST Assured, Cucumber/Karate
2+ years of experience with logging systems such as Splunk and Elastic
Desired Qualifications:
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience with programming using Jenkins API
Experience in managing complex data sets
Experience with Service Virtualization
Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis
Enterprise experience with one or more CI/CD implementation, configuration management and orchestration tools: Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, GitHub Actions, Harness IO, Spinnaker, Terraform
Experience with one or more Cloud platforms: AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure
API development experience with Apigee, Mulesoft, or a similar framework
Grid computing / Elastic compute experience with ephemeral instances like Nuke and Pave to scale on-demand leveraging containers and tools like Kubernetes, Docker, EC2, IBM Symphony Grid, Parallel Computing
Experience with one or more security and code quality scanning tools: SonarQube, Fortify, BlackDuck, Checkmarx
