About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
- Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
- Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Work with the team and maintain the backup environment healthy to maintain RPO/RTO
- Mentor team members technically on backup applications and be a point of contact for any production support issues. Adhering to SLAs and work with SME on root cause analysis, troubleshooting technical issues.
- Install and configure backup master, media and client servers. Install Tape drive and troubleshooting. Good experience in backup and restore process.
- Daily health check and monitoring of backup appliances. Troubleshoot backup issues involving various backup error codes.
- Good exposure in Incident management (CR/WO/WR and Incident tickets) and vendor management.
- Work with the team on critical issues and Major Incident calls in the event of outage.
- Generate and work on various program metrics using reports and automate procedures to enhance backup process
- Prepare and update technical documents
Required Qualifications:
- Have around 8-10+ years of experience in working in Backup technologies like NetBackup, Avamar etc.
- Experience and knowledge on Cohesity, Rubrik and Dell PPDM
- Experience in VMware backups, Dell Powerflex and Nutanix HCI.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in handling backup production support and maintenance tasks on complex and large backup infrastructure using Symantec NetBackup, EMC Avamar, EMC Data Domain and Tape Library.
- Good Working knowledge on SNMP backups, Deduplication and Replication
- Good working knowledge in any one of the Operating systems - Linux, UNIX and Windows.
- High experience in driving in Major incidents at organization level
- High understanding and knowledge of ITIL/Agile concepts
- Strong understanding of storage and backup hardware (e.g., tape drives, NAS and RAID)
- Excellent written and verbal skills at any CXO levels if required
- Analytical and Problem-solving skills
- 4+ Experience in Systems Engineering, and Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
