About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Institutional Investment Operations Specialist.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in lifecycle support for institutional trade flow
- Manage client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, as well as, work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issues
- Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables
- Contribute to large scale planning related to process, procedures and efficiencies with internal and industry related initiatives
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
- Provide leadership to bring groups together to resolve multi-faceted complex issues
- Serve as a leader on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives
- Review and analyze complex functional and operational tasks that require in-depth evaluation
- Exercise independent judgment and resolution to guide the deliverable
- Resolve moderately complex issues
- Lead team to meet functional area projects, and process deliverables
- Leverage solid understanding of functions, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Mentor and assist analysts
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of experience working in a business analysis role helping with data analysis, writing business requirements, user stores and success criteria ideally working in an agile change management lifecycle environment.
- Strong knowledge of capital market products (Equity, FI and Derivative), preferably with experience in Product Data, Pricing Data, and/or corporate action activities.
- Experience sourcing new reference data using industry market data vendors (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Markit, Broadridge, GMI, or ICE Data Services)
As Reference Data Business Analyst you will:
- Analyze complex issues raised by our data partners and consumers, collaborate across multiple teams, identify the root cause, and propose both tactical and strategic solutions to solve these issues.
- Review and analyze both regulatory and market data changes to assess impact to our Reference Data systems and processes, and help document requirements, user stories, success criteria and test scripts to support our agile framework with our Technology partners.
- Actively steward our product reference data, provide high quality client service support, and continually looking for process improvement opportunities that will create operational efficiencies to improve client service and/or reduce risk.
- Utilize technology (e.g. SQL, Tableau, Excel, Alteryx, etc…) and analytical skills to continually improve our data quality program by helping identify data anomalies, process inefficiencies, data defects and design dashboards and workflows to help our team manage and steward our reference data more effectively.
- Analyze large data sets to solve complex issues and help drive business requirements for Tech enhancements that will drive transformational change in our space to better serve our clients, increase scalability to support business growth, and meet changing regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills needed to build and maintain strong partnerships with our business partners, subject matter experts and operational managers to proactively solve issues and improve processes to reduce risk and improve operational processes.
- Be responsible for the accurate and timely product set up, maintenance, and exception management processing for all product reference data asset classes including fixed income (agency, corporate, mortgage backed, sovereign, structured products, etc…) equities and listed derivative data globally.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, be able to multi-task and prioritize your daily workload to meet tight deadlines and close out all daily tasks on time, and ensure proper and timely escalation when issues arise.
