About this role:

  • Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
  • Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
  • Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a college graduate with B.A. /B.S. College Degree preferred major in Computer Science and/or MIS (Management Information Systems)/Engineering graduate
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on engineering experience with the SRE Concepts and Tools (AppD, Grafana, Elastic APM, Thousand Eyes, Ansible)
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure and container orchestration platform (E.g AWS, GCP, Kubernetes)
  • Demonstrated technical competency and proficient in English language

Job Expectation:

  • Application Support Role in L2 & L3 involving Production Support Deliveries and Services and SRE Initiatives
  • Exposure to any SRE Concepts and Tools especially Observability and Automation tools (AppD, Grafana, Elastic APM, Thousand Eyes, Ansible)
  • Help drive adoption of enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovation improving availability in a multi-cloud ecosystem by evolving observability, monitoring, logging, synthetic monitoring, and chaos engineering.
  • Automate key SRE metrics and IT Service Operations processes including customer impact, availability of critical business flows, SLO/SLI adherence, error budget, and reduce time to recovery
  • Share support responsibilities for critical applications and customer journeys including leading technical resolution of high priority incidents with cross-functional partners, remediation of issues, conducting of blameless postmortems, root cause analysis and introduce continuous improvement solving problems once and for all with the goal of no repeats.
  • Ready to work in Shift Hours that spans between 06:30 AM to 10:30 PM IST & should be ready to work on weekend/Holidays.
  • Production & Platform support involves being on standby for providing 24x7 support & Responsible to maintain high availability of the systems & applications.
  • Responsible for Delivering SRE Initiatives (Code Analysis and Solutioning, TOIL Reduction and Observability)
  • Responsible for Driving Production Releases and reviewing Application Releases from quality and risk standpoint
  • Evaluate SLA, identifies gaps, suggest changes to assure supporting SLAs.
  • Performs complex migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations and/or configurations.
  • Good communication to handle business requirement and explaining solution.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge on SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with Continuous integration and deployment pipeline.
  • Knowledge of DevOps Principles and practices
  • Familiarity with security best practices protocols.
  • Prior experience in an SRE role or similar capacity.
  • Hands on experience with monitoring and logging tools (E.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
  • Ability to Collaborate Effectively with cross functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
