Shared Services Operations

Shared Services Operations is part of The Chief Operating Office. The COO is responsible for delivering operational processes and redesigning business workflows by efficiently utilizing resources to exceed customer and regulatory requirements. Our mission is to integrate, transform, and strengthen the enterprise through automation, risk mitigation, effective controls, and state-of-the-art technological solutions to operate at an optimal level.

Operations’ goal is to build a more unified, integrated approach to Wells Fargo's business operations functions focused on enhancing our operational excellence, meeting our regulatory remediation efforts, and better serving customers.

Shared Services Operations (SSO) delivers core operational functions to our customers that are common across Wells Fargo, along with transformation capabilities to our employees, utilizing a continuous improvement approach to achieve stronger controls, improved client experiences, and sustained efficiencies. Shared Services Operations includes: Business & Real Estate Services, Financial Crimes & Regulatory Operations, India & Philippines SSO, Operational Excellence, Payments Operations, Payments Transformation, Quality Assurance and Strategy & Transformation.

The Role

The Head of BSA/AML Customer Data Strategy will define a data strategy roadmap, build robust and resilient data capabilities and processes that allow Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM), Financial Crime Operations (FCO) and Wells Fargo (WFC) to create a modern centralized ability to store, manage and analyze Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering (BSA/AML) data to fulfill the Bank’s regulatory, compliance and risk commitments for Wells Fargo.

Responsibilities include:

  • Shape a high performing team across BSA/AML Data and instill the regular routines required to maintain transparency, meet regulatory deliverables, and instill controls to mitigate risk along the way.
  • Hire world-class Product Owners and Business Analysts to curate, maintain and execute against data user stories.
  • Instill and drive a culture of trust, accountability, and transparency to allow the Bank to meet our regulatory framework in a safe and sound manner – requires daily interaction across a global team to define expectations, coach managers to be culture carriers, instill an environment of trust.
  • Deliver the right strategic data environment for BSA/AML teams (FCO, FCRM, BGs) – BAU activities, forward looking as well as ad-hoc requests and remediations/lookbacks. Understand use cases and balance short term needs (interim technology state) with future state technology + cloud journey.
  • Build a Data Operating Model by creating formal inventories of Systems of Record / Systems of Trust / Authorized Data Sources; build a Data Product Model and prioritize use cases. Socialize the data operating model across the bank, including senior leadership. Agree on the implementation plan and execute against it.
  • Run a Data Governance Forum across FCO, FCRM and BGs that brings together all data-related initiatives to ensure ongoing alignment to key WFC priorities.
  • Assess data quality across all BSA/AML Data Products and establish a process to address data quality issues.
  • Build a Case Management tool, including identifying the target state needs, analyzing technological options, and building / executing the requirements and roadmap to get there.
  • Build a best-in-class analytics team by examining current tools, talent, processes, and other gaps, and building a roadmap / hiring top talent.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, including Management experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 4+ years of management experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading large, complex, cross-functional programs in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environments ideally; transformation, product, strategic planning, project management.
  • Experience building and delivering technology roadmaps around Hadoop, Cloud, and the ability to understand use cases and balance short term needs (interim technology state) with future state technology + cloud journey.
  • Experience in a Data Product Model, where data is delivered to meet the needs of user / stakeholders.
  • Experience building and owning Case Management tools, including identifying the target state and building / executing the requirements and roadmap to get there.
  • Experience building and leading teams across multiple locations including managing managers.
  • Ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization, create a strong collaborative environment, develop partnerships with many business and functional areas across Wells Fargo.
  • Effective relationship management and the ability to influence and create an environment that fosters collaboration and credible challenge across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; effective in communication across variety of audiences and constituencies, including executive management.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts so that they are clearly understood in support of sound decisions.
  • Superb collaboration skills across multiple levels and functions with demonstrated success through decision making and in gaining alignment.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a balanced approach.
  • Experience working with Second Line of Defense (LOD) Risk organizations and front lines of business to improve the risk management function related to customer onboarding activities.
  • Demonstrated core competencies in Leadership, Business Acumen in Wholesale and Consumer Banking, Risk Management, Change Management, Project Management, and Process Improvement.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
