Wells Fargo is seeking a Capital Markets Middle Office Specialist (FCM) in Capital Markets as a part of our Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Operations division. Learn more about our career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.
This position supports the Wells Fargo Securities Markets Clearing and Futures Execution business. This individual will be responsible for providing holistic client services to Cleared Derivatives clients, including margin settlement, issue resolution, sales support, and participation in internal projects/initiatives that improve the customer experience. This individual will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in Futures and Options, and OTC clearing (CDS, IRS) and identifying efficiencies within our post-trade execution processes, including making recommendations based on industry best-practices primarily targeting client services, funding, risk mitigation, controls and reducing volume sensitivity.
The candidate must be able to foster strong relationships with clients, the Front Office, Technology, and other key internal groups that regularly interact with the department. The applicant must be able to filter and synthesize detailed information, as well as understand system processes and workflow for trading activity on multiple Derivatives clearing organizations.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure timely, and accurate, returns, borrows, contract compare, account balancing, mark to markets, DTC monitoring, rate changes, billing, and Loanet matching for both international and domestic processing
- Identify opportunities to resolve complex confirmation and related trade issues
- Work collaboratively with other Wells Fargo groups and logistical functions including PB, Finance, IT, Legal, Compliance, Market Risk and Credit Risk
- Ensure control standards are in line with Bank policy as documented. Articulate all control deficiencies within a KRI, audit point or action plan
- Partner with Change Team to analyze and document current state processes and drive future state requirements
- Demonstrate sound understanding of the business and client issues together with the ability to develop solutions to meet these needs
- Display enthusiasm and self-motivation to overcome obstacles and demonstrate a positive approach while encouraging the same approach in others
- Drive continuous improvement to deliver on set quantitative goals
- Ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are of a high standard
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Capital Markets industry experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
- Ability to communicate confidentially and professionally
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of loan, securities, and derivative products
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Possess a solid understanding of derivatives (Exchange Traded Futures and Options, IRS, CDS)
- SunGard GMI experience
