FX Operations Specialist

About this role:
Wells Fargo is looking for an experienced FX operations specialist to join the Foreign Exchange Operations team. This role involves supporting Foreign Exchange trades for Institutional and Corporate clients. Responsibilities include customer service, trade affirmation, monitoring and inputting settlements of FX payments, and resolving trade and system issues for timely processing of transactions.
The FX London Operations team collaborates closely with the trading desk to assist Wells Fargo’s clients. The specialist will handle operational post-trade functions like trade confirmation, settlement, and managing inquiries on trade discrepancies and settlement instructions from clients and the trading desk.
Accountability lies in overseeing a range of complex processes from start to finish. As part of a global team, the specialist will coordinate information across various operational areas such as Interbank, Trading, Sales, and Investigations. Additionally, they will provide backup support for team members when needed.
In this role, you will:
Participate in lifecycle support tasks for FX trades and identify opportunity for process improvements.
Assist leadership in bringing individual or teams together in order to resolve complex issues.
Review and analyze functional operational tasks that require research, evaluation, and exercise independent judgment to guide the deliverable.
Provide subject matter expertise on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives.
Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise on functions, projects, internal and industry related initiatives.
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
Be actively involved in improvements to the existing processes and systems and engage in projects related to that including but not limited to providing guidance, requirements, testing, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance, Economics, or Business.
Prior experience in Foreign Exchange preferably in a back office or middle office capacity or demonstrate appreciable knowledge of foreign exchange trades and settlements.
Knowledge of FX applications such as Opics, GTSS, FXALL, MISYS and Bloomberg CMS.
Knowledge of CLS –CLS matching logic, In and out swaps, IPIS, RPIS and pay-ins and pay-out schedules.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
Ability to interact professionally with customers, business partners, peers, and upper management.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced and fluid environment and work under pressure.
Ability to adapt and learn new systems, processes, and regulations quickly and on a regular basis and comfortable working with technology and applications.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to convey processes, procedures, guidelines, and analytics in an approachable laymen’s terms.
Self-motivated and a strong desire for continued learning.
Advance Excel and other office products skills a plus.
Experience in Institutional Investment Operations, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
