Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President, Lead Corporate Banking Relationship Manager as part of the Energy team within the Energy & Power (E&P) Corporate Banking team. This role will support Senior Corporate Banking Relationship Managers who are responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with a broad range of corporate clients and delivering the full platform of Wells Fargo’s capabilities including Debt & Equity Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, M&A related Acquisition Finance, Treasury Management, Macro solutions (commodities, rates, and FX), Global Receivables & Trade and Credit. This position requires a VP that is capable of supporting several senior Relationship Managers driving the business and developing complex relationships (mostly larger public names). The successful candidate should have a proven ability to develop internal/external relationships and have some relevant corporate banking experience. The Energy team is an established client coverage practice at Wells Fargo and is a part of the firm’s broader Energy & Power CIB business, focused on upstream, midstream (including LNG), downstream, and oil field services.
In this role, you will:
Lead or participate in relationship management and business development
Represent the bank in developing, growing and maintaining client relationships with critical and complex clients
Strive to broaden and deepen customer relationships by providing integrated, end to end financial solutions to our customers across multiple product platforms
Participate with relationship managers and management in the completion of major transactions for strategic clients
Originate, structure and/or aide in the execution of transactions related to investment banking, traditional corporate lending or other credit related products
Demonstrate a strategic and consultative approach with client
Identify opportunities and organize the right internal partners and team to form the relationship team
Strategically collaborate and consult with peers and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor in addition to involvement with the training of junior staff
Have responsibility for a portfolio of approximately 20+ names across the Energy group
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Corporate Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
Specific experience in the Energy Industry, ideally with prior experience working in Oil and Gas
Experience originating, structuring, and executing transactions related to corporate banking, other credit related products equity or venture capital investing
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Strong accounting skills and ability to analyze financial statements
Relationship management or some client-facing experience
Ability to work independently in a fast paced, deadline driven team environment
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time. This individual will be traveling approximately 2 days a week between Dallas and Houston TX and occasionally Tulsa, OK.
Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
Pay Range: $175,000 - $200,000 annual base salary. Eligible for annual discretionary performance bonus.
