About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) as part of the Commercial Lending and Credit Finance Services (CLCFS) Technology team. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of complex, enterprise-grade technology solutions tailored to the Asset-Based Lending (ABL) product line and play a pivotal role in modernizing and enhancing ABL platforms that support loan origination, collateral monitoring, borrowing base calculations, and risk management.
In this role, you will:
Lead end-to-end engineering efforts for ABL-specific initiatives, including collateral tracking systems, borrowing base automation, and ABL loan servicing platforms
Develop and enforce engineering best practices and design standards for scalable, secure, and high-performance ABL applications
Collaborate with ABL product owners, underwriters, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Design, code, test, and deploy full-stack applications that support ABL workflows such as field exam data ingestion, collateral valuation, and advance rate calculations
Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures used in ABL reporting and compliance
Integrate with third-party systems for collateral feeds, financial statement analysis, and risk scoring
Mentor junior engineers and lead agile teams through sprint planning, code reviews, and delivery milestones
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years of hands-on experience with C#.NET or VB.NET, and SQL Server in a financial services environment
5+ years of experience building or supporting applications for Asset-Based Lending (e.g., collateral management, borrowing base, ABL loan lifecycle)
5+ years of experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and secure SDLC practices
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Ext JS, etc.)
4+ years of experience with SSIS, .NET Core, and cloud-native development
Deep understanding of ABL business processes, including collateral eligibility, advance rate modeling, and ABL loan structures
Strong experience with SQL performance tuning, data modeling, and reporting for ABL portfolios
Familiarity with field exam systems, ABL compliance tools, and risk monitoring dashboards
Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including ABL credit officers, risk analysts, and operations
Ability to work independently and lead initiatives in a structured, fast-paced environment
