About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer in the Global Operations Control Organization as part of the Payment Operations team who will support risk management activities for Lockbox Operations RAU.


In this role, you will:

  • Risk Assessment – Responsible for risk identification, risk measures, control identification/design and ratings

  • RAU Risk Oversight – Manage all risk management activities associated with the RAU (i.e. issues, OREs, process change, etc.) to ensure control requirements are met and adhered to by the business owner

  • Subject Matter Expertise – Become the risk and control subject matter expert on the assigned service model and underlying L4 processes

  • Risk Consulting – Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies

  • Business Collaboration – Collaborate with Lockbox Operations to identify current and emerging risks and guide the development of mitigation strategies

  • Process Integration – Integrate yourself in all necessary business routines to ensure your knowledge of the processes is sufficient

  • Control Monitoring – Monitor assigned portfolio of control activities and escalate when necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • RCSA Execution – Hands-on experience conducting Risk and Control Self-Assessments, including identifying risks, assessing inherent and residual risks, and designing effective controls.

  • Issue Management – Direct involvement in the full Issue Management Life Cycle, including identifying, tracking, and remediating issues.

  • Communication Skills – Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities for effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Analytical Thinking – Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable, strategic solutions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Proven ability to build partnerships and collaborate with peers, managers, and senior leaders across various risk domains and business units.

  • Independent Decision-Making – Capable of making sound, timely decisions independently in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

  • Microsoft Office Proficiency – Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for professional communication, data analysis, and presentations.


Job Expectations:

  • Position offers a hybrid work schedule in which you are required to work in office 3 days per week at the posted location
