About this Role
Wells Fargo is seeking Senior Lead Data Management Analysts to establish subject matter expertise for the new Chief Operating Office (COO) Data Domain, supporting enterprise-wide data management initiatives and regulatory priorities.
This role is pivotal in shaping the data strategy, governance, and quality framework for the COO domain, with a strong focus on business-critical use cases, regulatory compliance, and domain-specific data structures.
In this Role, You Will:
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing objectives, roadmaps, and long-term strategies for complex business and technical data needs.
- Lead the design and execution of advanced data quality assessments, root cause analysis of data defects, and remediation strategies across critical COO data assets.
- Drive the identification, sourcing, and documentation of high-priority business and regulatory use cases, ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance standards.
- Provide strategic guidance on the development and implementation of domain-specific information structures, including metadata, lineage, and control frameworks.
- Evaluate and benchmark data quality metrics and audit results to inform continuous improvement and risk mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a function expert in the use of data artifacts, metadata, and lineage to support regulatory reporting, operational efficiency, and risk reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, sustainable data controls and governance processes.
- Represent the COO Data Domain in enterprise-wide data governance forums, influencing policy, standards, and domain incentives in the data space.
- Lead the development of domain-specific data incentives and accountability models to drive adoption of data management best practices.
- Partner with data stewards, technology, risk, and compliance teams to ensure data is fit for purpose and aligned with regulatory expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven experience implementing and operationalizing enterprise Data Management Policies and Standards.
- Deep understanding of regulatory data requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, GDPR) and experience supporting regulatory actions or remediation efforts.
- Expertise in identifying, sourcing, and documenting business-critical and regulatory use cases, including associated data artifacts and metadata.
- Strong knowledge of data control frameworks, data quality rules, and domain-specific information structures.
- Experience with data defect management, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.
- Familiarity with domain incentives and accountability models in the data governance space.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders across business, risk, and technology.
- Proficiency with data governance and metadata tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data issues into actionable insights.
Job Expectations:
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Hybrid work schedule. Must be able to work from one of the approved job posting locations three (3) days in office & two (2) days remote.
