About this role:

Are you a Principal Engineer that is passionate about leading efforts in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge services? Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead our efforts to lead our application modernization in the operations space. There will be an opportunity to lead creating the technology strategy for TCOO which includes modernization agenda across the flagship programs in TCOO - DISP, Contact Center as a Service, Fraud, Collections and Shared Services (KYC and Negative News). This position will drive technology strategy, modernization best practices, infusing of GenAI, and standardization of solutions across these flagship solutions.

This is a highly visible role that requires a blend of technical depth, strategic thinking, and cross-functional leadership. You’ll work closely with CIO domain architects, business partners, and engineering teams to align roadmaps, rationalize capabilities, and ensure investments support enterprise goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 7+ years of application development using modern architecture stack and tooling
  • 5+ years of experience in designing solutions at enterprise scale across the business operations domain (ex. consumer, retail, wholesale, payments, fraud, KYC, and negative news)
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud adoption, enablement, or technical consulting roles within technology organizations
  • 3+ years of experience in multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, OpenShift) and hands-on experience with cloud-native development
  • 3+ years of experience in solutions architecture and cloud onboarding processes

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficient in microservices architecture and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Harness).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, OpenShift Administrator)
  • Experience in cloud adoption, enablement, or technical consulting roles within technology organizations
  • Engage with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture to enable application migration paths to target architecture; for example, cloud readiness, application modernization and data strategy
  • Leading change in a large corporate technology environment with a focus on pattern design, execution and reusability.
  • Experience in collaborating and partnering with other key parts of the organization and drive towards shared goals and success
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, at all levels of the organization, including senior executive-level leadership
  • Ability to drive and lead organizational change in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Ability to be proactive, innovative, and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and facilitating discussion to explore the best possible solutions and possess the ability to lead
  • Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results-oriented leadership style
  • Recognized internally and externally as a thought leader and subject matter expert
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on clear documentation and cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in reporting and providing actionable insights from complex data sets
  • Experience shaping enterprise-level technology strategy and aligning domain roadmaps into a unified narrative
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across federated architecture teams
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills—able to translate complex tech strategies into business-aligned strategy

Job Expectations:

  • Must be able to work onsite in one of the posted locations

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
