Wells Fargo is seeking a leader of our Cloud SOC. The role sits within our Cybersecurity and Information Technology group leading a team of engineers and operations staff responsible for our Cyber Cloud security operations function which is integrated into our Cyber defense and CFTC, CSIRT functions focusing more broadly on Cloud Cyber defense objectives.

This role is a leadership position responsible for driving Cyber Defense detective and preventative objectives with our Cloud operating environments including PaaS, IaaS and SaaS. Your objective is to ensure the directives and activities are in alignment with policies and company risk as we strive to build a world class capability to detect and response, isolate sophisticated threats.

In this role you will provide industry-leading cloud detection and response on a daily basis to build advanced detection techniques and capabilities to integrate our CFTC, Threat Analysis team CSIRT/Operations with in-depth Wells Fargo threat detection techniques that align to our mission critical business processes and critical information assets you will help shape. You will help Wells Fargo align our Cyber Defense with industry leading detective and preventative defense capabilities to enhance and build an industry leading threat detection and response function across our cloud operating environments to help Wells Fargo better reduce the overall impact of business risk before, during, and after an incident as your team compliments our standard operational focused CSIRT teams. You will assist our Cyber defense functions quickly deal with incident response for our business teams and lead connections with outside external industry partners to empower our overall FUSION program. You will lead Cloud SOC to define and deal with all information security related risks and threats impacting Wells Fargo to build a world class threat detection and response capability for our Cloud hosted environments.

In this role, you will:

  • Formulate our Cloud Cyber defense and strategy
  • Modernize our Cyber defense / CSIRT practices helping our CTM team external relationships for intelligence
  • Manage a Cloud SOC focused team
  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic resilience priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement
  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring key talent
  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface with our CSIRT management team and Technology teams as part of that function
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business resilience objectives


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Information Security Analysis experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 5+ years leading a Security Operations and Resilience Functions and Fusion Centers

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications in cyber such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CEH
  • Experience with networking infrastructure, cybersecurity tools and technologies
  • Endpoint and network experience: IDS, IPS, EDR, ATP, malware defenses and monitoring
  • Threat hunt experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of common adversary tactics and techniques such as persistence, defense, evasion and obfuscation
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK Framework

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
