About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Strategy & Planning Consultant within the Strategy and Execution team for Small & Business Banking. This individual will define the overall strategy and business plan for Small & Business Banking. This role is a trusted partner, responsible for leading cross-functional research and strategic assessments that directly influence the financial and operational trajectory of the business. The ideal candidate will bring a strong strategic mindset, exceptional collaboration skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
In this role, you will:
- Act as an advisor to the SBB leadership team to define and update the Small & Business Banking strategy and business plan.
- Strategic Assessments: Lead high-impact, cross-functional research and assessments at the direct request of the Head of SBB to inform critical business decisions.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and refine SBB’s strategic priorities, both short term and long-term plans, ensuring alignment with roadmaps and broader organizational goals.
- Business Analysis: Pro-actively analyze current and future business challenges, evaluate potential solutions, and recommend strategic paths forward.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with teams across Finance, Customer Data & Analytics Insights (CDAI), Product, and others to ensure an integrated approach to strategy development and execution.
- Growth Enablement: Guide the business growth agenda by identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with market trends and internal capabilities.
- Provide senior level strategic consulting services to client organizations and develop or influence highly complex business and technical needs across groups and functions.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Direct experience in defining and owning strategies and business plans.
- Proven track record of leading strategic assessments with measurable business impact.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear recommendations.
- Experience working in or with financial services or banking is a plus.
- Strong experience in strategy, business planning, management consulting, or a related field.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and executive presence.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with executive leadership.
