About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Management Analyst to lead strategic data initiatives across business, technology, and compliance functions within the investment banking domain. This role blends data management, business analysis, and project leadership, with a strong focus on modern data architecture.


In this role, you will:

  • Organize and lead complex companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes
  • Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements
  • Identify and recommend analysis of data quality or integrity issues
  • Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data governance standards and procedures
  • Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data
  • Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
  • Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
  • Serve as relationship manager for a line of business
  • Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
  • Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in data management, business analysis, and project delivery within financial services.
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives using Scrum or traditional project management methodologies.
  • SAFe/Agile certification is desirable.
  • Solid understanding of investment banking products, processes, and data flows.
  • Experience with DataLake platforms and modern data architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools.
  • Strong grasp of data modeling principles and metadata management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, quality metrics, and control processes.

Job Expectations:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business, technology, and compliance to define and execute enterprise data strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional data projects as a Scrum Master or Project Manager, ensuring timely delivery, operational efficiency, and alignment with business goals.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR).
  • Identify and remediate data quality and integrity issues through proactive analysis and control implementation.
  • Support regulatory reporting and data risk assessments with a focus on compliance and control.
  • Contribute to DataLake implementation, ensuring scalable and secure data architecture.
  • Apply knowledge of data modeling and architecture to support robust and sustainable data solutions.
