About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced product controller to support the expanding International Markets division, utilising the offshore team in India to enhance efficiency and quality. The position involves collaborating with desks, US Product Control, and support units to analyse data supporting strategic goals. The focus is on delivering information to stakeholders and ensuring a robust internal control framework.

In the International Finance department, Product Control oversees reporting for the International region, offering support across different business lines within International Markets. Additionally, this role encompasses Product Control responsibilities for the Multi Currency Treasury operations spanning the UK, EU, and North America.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop risk and P&L attribution analysis, ensuring alignment between reported results, underlying trading activity and clean P&L reporting.

  • Liaise with Front Office and Risk to explain key drivers of revenue and balance sheet movements.

  • Oversee month-end close activities and prepare MI packs for senior management.

  • Lead and coordinate finance-driven projects, such as system migrations, regulatory reporting changes and product launches.

  • Act as product control lead for cross-functional change initiatives, collaborating with IT, Risk, Operations, and Compliance teams.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking deliverables, risks, and milestones.

  • Gather and document business requirements for new tools, reports, and automation initiatives.

  • Drive the implementation of process improvements, including automation and efficiency gains using VBA, Python, or other relevant tools.

  • Represent Product Control in governance forums and working groups related to strategic initiatives.

  • Identify process and system efficiencies and initiate and deliver change management projects in conjunction with Technology and other functional areas to improve the control environment.

  • Drive the development of systems and reporting processes for ongoing new product and business developments across International.

  • Maintain documentary control processes to provide assurance that all policies and procedures are being adhered to.

  • Analyse monthly financial results to support reported figures, including yield, margin and trading results.

  • Ad hoc support for the daily P&L production.

  • Proactively engage in US and global led projects and initiatives to ensure International product control team are fully represented.


Required Qualifications:

  • University degree (or equivalent) and professional qualification with extensive and detailed post qualification Fixed Income Product control experience essential.

  • Experience in Finance or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Job Expectations:

  • Experience with project tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, MS Project) and data tools (e.g. SQL, Power BI, Python).

  • Experience and proven track record of delivering automation and change initiatives.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to give presentations and briefings to business leaders.

  • Progressive record of accomplishment and achievement within Product Control.

  • Creative and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to analyse business transactions and identify key risks/mitigating controls, combined with a pragmatic approach to problem solving and the ability to work under pressure and maintain high energy levels.

  • Must be able to work independently whilst providing leadership and positive collaboration within a fast paced, team environment.

  • Team player with strong advocacy and interpersonal skills.

  • Results focused, organised and efficient.
