The Fund Finance Group (“FFG”) provides a comprehensive product offering to financial sponsors and asset managers across subscription finance (syndicated/bilateral subscription facilities), NAV/Hybrid lending (syndicated/bilateral NAV lines and back-leverage), structured credit & advisory (non-bank NAV placement, rated feeders, CFOs), and distribution. FFG resides within Banking & Capital Markets within Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Bank.
Prospective senior team members will have the opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and growing Fund Finance team during a period of innovation across the Fund Finance market. Executive Directors head up integrated deal teams to originate, structure, underwrite and execute transactions for some of the world’s largest financial sponsors and asset managers.
In this role, you will:
Expand existing and developing new client relationships
Originate and structure new transactions across the full FFG product suite;
Content delivery including driving and delivering of pitchbooks;
Work with clients to understand financing needs and provide tailored solutions;
Partner with FFG’s Fund Solutions platform for NAV and Structured Product transactions as well as Syndications for transaction origination and distribution to traditional bank lenders and institutional investors
Collaborate with other areas of the bank (Risk Solutions, Financial Sponsors, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Commercial Real Estate, Structured Products Group) to deliver for clients across the Corporate & Investment Bank.
Structuring and negotiating of term sheets;
Driving the legal documentation process for new originations as well as the oversight for amendments (extensions, upsizes etc.);
Oversight of the credit underwriting and approval process;
Management/Mentoring deal teams in all aspects of deal origination and ongoing portfolio management;
Required Qualifications for Europe, Middle East & Africa only:
- Experience in Fund Finance, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Extensive experience at a major firm in one or a combination of the following: Fund Finance, capital markets, investment banking or industry-specific sector;
Direct client interaction experience, including experience leading relevant transaction elements and interacting with senior decision makers
Deal origination & credit underwriting experience acting in a senior / lead capacity
Experience reading, negotiating, and/or interpreting legal documents
Experience in structured finance or investment banking is preferred
Leadership experience and/or experience training others in a relevant professional capacity
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical thinker. Able to make decisions and recommendations that are well-reasoned
High level of personal motivation. Does more than what is asked for and anticipates questions/issues
Ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining excellence and consistency of work. Ability to quickly change focus and stay organized is a must
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Very comfortable and efficient in Microsoft office
