About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Valuations Specialist as part of Real Estate Valuations Services (REVS) Commercial Quality Assurance (QA) function. The individual is responsible for leading end-to-end execution of REVS Commercial Real Estate Valuation QA activities, including ensuring effective design, assessment, monitoring and execution of Commercial Real Estate QA control.


In this role, you will:

  • Support management in the day-to-day supervision of less experienced team providing guidance, and resolution to issues contributing to overall effectiveness of team
  • Coordinate and ensure timely execution of quarterly Commercial Real Estate Valuation QA controls and related activities
  • Execute functions of control owner, including updating control documentation, reviewing/approving Control Sharing Agreements, providing walkthroughs, gathering sample support, etc.
  • Provide feedback and present ideas for improving or implementing processes and tools within REVS Commercial QA function and Valuations group
  • Perform or guide others on complex escalated concerns that require planning, evaluation, and interpretation
  • Provide training and technical guidance to less experienced staff
  • Prepare reporting of quarterly Commercial Real Estate QA results and deliver to leadership
  • Perform second level QA reviews as needed
  • Review samples of QA reviews for quality management and performance purposes
  • Collaborate with centralized COO Global Operations (GO) QA team and dependent/reliant lines of business
  • Maintain/develop tools to support commercial QA function
  • Research and analyze QA review results to identify potential trends/areas of potential opportunity
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring understanding of Commercial Valuations functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead a broader work team to meet deliverables
  • Collaborate and consult with Commercial Real Estate Valuations peers, colleagues, and middle to senior level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead Commercial Real Estate Valuations projects and teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Valuations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Certified General Real Property Appraiser License in at least 1 state
  • MAI, SRPA, and/or AI-RRS Appraisal Institute designation
  • Familiarity with international standards applicable to commercial real estate valuation such as RICS Valuation Global Standards and Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (CUSPAP)
  • Experience leading team of commercial real estate appraiser reviewers
  • Familiarity with RCSA, control owner responsibilities, and shared controls
  • Knowledge and understanding of Wholesale Credit policies WFC-CML 6800, 6200 and 6900
  • Proficient with Collateral 360 (C360)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of SharePoint
  • Experience and knowledge of risk management process and procedures
  • Experience navigating policies, procedures, and regulation requirements in alignment with role
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and flexible, adaptable, and changing environment

  • 100% remote Location can be across the United States

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$100,000.00 - $163,000.00
