Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant
In this role, you will:
Lead complex initiatives related to business analysis and modeling, including those that are cross functional, with broad impact, and act as key participant in data aggregation, monitoring, and reporting of stress testing and portfolio analysis for Risk Analytics
Review and analyze complex programing models to extract data and manipulate databases to provide statistical and financial modeling specific to businesses supported
Manage the roll out of pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models for supported businesses and product line
Make decisions in complex product strategies, data modeling, and risk exposure, requiring solid understanding of business unit projects and regulatory responses, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead Analytic and Reporting to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with peers, less experienced to more experienced managers, to resolve production, project, and regulatory issues, and achieve risk analysts, and common modeling goals
Lead projects, teams, and mentor
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Good understanding of Equity Derivatives, Structured Products business with exposure to structured / exotic derivative products, corresponding risk measures for the purposes of analyzing changes to P&L and providing explanation to the senior management and the regulators.
Working knowledge of new age reporting tools like Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau and usage of AI tools.
Timely and accurate daily P&L reporting and general ledger reconciliations, primarily for the firm’s trading activities. P&L production will include both Comprehensive P&L and clean (risk-based) P&L
Research and identify P&L issues arising from incorrect trade bookings, system errors, and valuation discrepancies.
Month-end close for P&L, and substantiation of balance sheet at a detailed level.
Must have strong attention to detail and ability to identify and escalate issues as needed.
This role will require close and efficient communication with various groups, including Front Office, Middle Office, Market and Credit Risk, and Group Controllers.
Prepare weekly/monthly management reports/financial highlights.
Provide high quality commentary on P&L and balance sheet drivers.
Develop a solid understanding of the legal entities on which trading activities are conducted, and ensure the P&L is reported accurately on each entity.
Prepare material to support internal/external audit examinations/queries.
Develop and improve upon internal controls through critical evaluation of current environment, with the goal of implementing consistent, industry best practices across the enterprise.
Maintain accurate policies and procedures that are up to date and can be easily followed by internal and external audit groups.
Job Expectations:
Finance Product Control: Responsible for analyzing, validating and reporting accurate Profit and loss for the Corporate and Investment banking business through a series of controls. Entails partnering as well as challenging the Trading Desks/ front office teams on their trading, banking and advisory activities while facilitating regulatory compliance.
This VP-level position reports to the Equity Product Control manager in India and is based in Bengaluru. The successful candidate will directly report to the Manager of Equity Product Control and needs to contribute towards the Market’s Equity daily P&L and management reporting, analytics, and reconciliation activities, with expanded responsibilities in governance, stakeholder management, and strategic process improvement.
Oversight & Leadership: Direct and mentor a team responsible for timely and accurate daily P&L reporting and general ledger reconciliations for the firm’s trading activities. Ensure best practices in both Comprehensive and Clean (risk-based) P&L production.
Strategic Issue Resolution: Lead investigations into complex P&L issues, including incorrect trade bookings, system errors, and valuation discrepancies. Drive root-cause analysis and remediation plans.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong partnerships with Front Office, Middle Office, Market and Credit Risk, and Group Controllers. Act as a senior point of escalation and challenge trading, banking, and advisory activities.
Regulatory & Audit Interface: Represent Product Control in internal/external audit examinations and regulatory queries.
Process Improvement: Critically evaluate and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures. Champion the adoption of industry best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
