About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Management Analyst to serve as a Data Product Owner within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Data Management organization, part of the CIB Chief Operating Office. This role emphasizes product ownership responsibilities, focusing on defining and delivering data products that align with CIB’s strategic data objectives. The position requires strong leadership in data strategy, stakeholder engagement, and agile delivery to ensure simplified, high-quality, and cost-effective data environments.


In this role, you will:

  • Organize and lead complex companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes
  • Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements
  • Identify and recommend analysis of data quality or integrity issues
  • Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data governance standards and procedures
  • Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data
  • Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
  • Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
  • Serve as relationship manager for a line of business
  • Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
  • Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution
  • Own the data product vision and roadmap for feed rationalization and platform simplification, ensuring alignment with CIB’s data strategy and business priorities.
  • Collaborate with technology and business teams to translate business needs into actionable data product requirements and oversee delivery.
  • Analyze existing data feeds and applications, identify opportunities for consolidation, and drive adoption of strategic data sources to reduce cost and complexity.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business, operations, and technology teams, ensuring transparency and alignment on priorities and outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to embed AI/ML and automation into data services (e.g., data discovery, quality checks, workflow automation).
  • Define and monitor OKRs for data simplification initiatives, reporting progress to senior stakeholders on measurable outcomes such as feed reduction and improved data quality.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial services or investment banking.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, pipelines, and enterprise data tools.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate in a matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application in data operations.
  • Knowledge of agile principles and experience with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Job Expectations:

  • Serve as the product owner for data rationalization initiatives, ensuring delivery of simplified, scalable, and compliant data solutions.
  • Collaborate across business, technology, and compliance teams to implement enterprise data strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR).
  • Support reporting and updates for senior stakeholders on progress and outcomes.
