About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineer.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and projects associated with the technology domain, including installation, upgrades, and deployment efforts
- Identify opportunities for service quality and availability improvements within the technology domain environment
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for low to moderately complex projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Review and analyze technical assignments or challenges that are related to low to medium risk deliverables and that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternative technology domains
- Present recommendations for resolving issues or may escalate issues as needed to meet established service level agreements
- Exercise some independent judgment while also developing understanding of given technology domain in reference to security and compliance requirements
- Provide information to technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong years of hands-on experience in Ab‑Initio development (graphs, plans, PDL, EME, metadata).
- Strong experience debugging ETL workflows and resolving data quality issues.
- Proficiency in creating BDD test scenarios and implementing them using Karate.
- Experience in SDL Tridion content authoring, taxonomy usage, and publishing workflows.
- Good understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Job Expectations:
Ab‑Initio Development & Support
- Design, develop, and enhance ETL workflows using Ab‑Initio.
- Analyse and resolve production and lower‑environment issues related to Ab‑Initio jobs.
- Provide end‑to‑end test support, including debugging data issues and validating fixes.
- Work closely with business analysts and architects to translate requirements into scalable ETL solutions.
Test Automation (BDD & Karate)
- Develop and maintain BDD-style test cases using the Karate framework.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure functional coverage and automation alignment with acceptance criteria.
- Perform integration testing and validate upstream/downstream data dependencies.
Content Authoring (SDL Tridion)
- Create and update content components and pages in SDL Tridion based on functional and business requirements.
- Collaborate with content architects and product owners to maintain content consistency and quality.
- Ensure adherence to content governance and localization standards (if applicable).
Scrum & Cross‑Team Collaboration
- Work with scrum teams to support changes arising from Ab‑Initio requirements and related integrations.
- Participate in sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and daily stand‑ups.
- Provide technical guidance and impact analysis for user stories involving ETL or content dependencies.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases for data validation.
- Familiarity with enterprise messaging or upstream/downstream systems interacting with Ab‑Initio.
- Exposure to DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and JIRA.
- Knowledge of API validations using Karate (REST/SOAP).
- Understanding of content management best practices within Tridion 9.x or higher.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
