Lead Process Engineer - Powerapps, Powerautomate and GenAI

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Process Engineer.
This role is part of Human Resources Transformation and Products Team and services all lines of businesses under Human Resources. This team defines, measures, improves, and governs HR business processes to deliver consistent, desired outcomes for our customers; performs deep dive analysis of process design and performance gaps to build automation solutions that drive efficiency, effectiveness and elevates employee experience. Critical thinking, understanding of emerging technologies (like AI, Gen AI, RPA, Chatbots, MS Power Platforms), consulting, problem solving, decision making, strong communication and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment are key capabilities for this role.
In this role, you will:
1. Process Discovery & Problem Definition
- Lead complex initiatives to provide technological solutions with broad impact for cross functional businesses and technology teams
- Act as a key participant in providing strategic business solutions to companywide technology initiatives
- Evaluate highly complex business problems and provide subject matter knowledge proficiency for technology initiatives
- Define and lead detailed research on business and technology requests to develop efficient and accurate functional requirements
- Make decisions in highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of domain and technology applications, and which influence companywide technology solutions
- Lead project or systems documentation, and monitor and manage project schedules and deliverables
- Partner with business leaders and process owners to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities across functions
- Conduct process assessments and workshops to understand the current-state workflows, challenges, and user journeys
- Prioritize use cases based on business impact, feasibility, and ROI estimation while ensuring alignment with risk, compliance and other governance requirements
2. Requirement Gathering & Solution Blueprinting
- Facilitate structured requirement gathering sessions across leadership levels to capture functional and non-functional requirements
- Translate business needs into detailed solution blueprints including process flow diagrams demonstrating current state and future state, storyboards, and architecture maps
- Collaborate with HR Business teams, Data Governance, People Analytics, HR Technology, and various Governance teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and risk and compliance requirements of Wells Fargo
- Ensure solutions developed adhere to enterprise controls and regulatory protocols
3. Solution Design & Development
- Design and build intelligent solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI), AI/ML, RPA, Generative AI tools and other similar applications
- Prototype and iterate solutions through agile sprints, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and end-users
- Integrate automation solutions with existing systems using APIs, connectors, or RPA tools where necessary, follow SDLC and Change management methodologies, as needed
4. ROI Estimation & Business Case Development
- Develop business cases and financial estimations to quantify ROI, cost savings, productivity gains, and customer experience improvements
- Track and report realized benefits post-deployment, demonstrating measurable business value and facilitate approval process
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Present solution storyboards, architecture maps, and implementation roadmaps to leadership and cross-functional teams
- Simplify complex technical solutions into business-friendly narratives
- Partner with Change Management and required partners across the HR organization to ensure user adoption and capability uplift
6. Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Define and implement best practices, governance frameworks, and reusability standards for automation and AI solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in AI, GenAI, and process automation, identifying opportunities to apply them within the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Process Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience into transformation, intelligent automation, and/or solution architecture.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, RPA, AI, or Gen AI technologies.
- Strong background in business process analysis, design thinking, and agile methodologies.
- Exposure to RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and integration technologies preferred
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Root Case Analysis and other problem-solving techniques
Technical Skills -
- Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI
- RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism)
- GenAI tools (OpenAI, Copilot, or similar LLM-based solutions)
- API integration and workflow automation
- ROI modeling and business case preparation
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Copilot Studio (or equivalent Agentic AI tools)
- Process mapping/modeling (Visio, iGrafx)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong stakeholder management and executive level communication capabilities (both verbal and written)
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven and controlled environment through collaboration and partnership with multiple global stakeholders
Job Expectations:
- Ability to work in US hours to support critical stakeholders, as needed or scheduled
- Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
- Flexibility to work different shifts
- Shift timings: 1:30 – 10:30 pm IST (subject to change as per business requirements)
