Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and strong architectural design capabilities. This role combines advanced software engineering with system-level architecture responsibilities, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for enterprise-grade applications.
In this role, you will:
Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff.
Key Responsibilities:-
Architect and Design:
- Define and implement cloud-native architectures leveraging GCP services (Big Query, Iceberg, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Feature Store etc.).
- Design cross platform consumption patterns, microservices, and event-driven architectures for high availability and scalability.
- Design Agentic AI based solution for platform optimization
- Design and build agentic AI for GCP optimization:
- Proactive cost-saving and rightsizing at scale
- Automated performance tuning and
- Stronger compliance through secure, auditable agents
- Start small, iterate quickly, and scale using GCP’s agentic frameworks and best practices.
- Development and Integration:
- Perform quick POC various initiatives such as voltage tokenization API to validate integration and scalability
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices for automated deployments
- Design and build DR solutions for various GCP services, data pipelines and automat the failover processes
- Performance and Security:
- Optimize system performance, cost efficiency, and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and usage of VPC -SC perimeter for network isolations to safeguard and protect sensitive data
- Technical Leadership:
- Mentor engineering teams and provide guidance on best practices for cloud architecture and software development.
- Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Innovation and Strategy:
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
- Drive cloud migration initiatives and modernization of legacy systems and services within Google cloud platform.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in cloud architecture (GCP preferred).
- Proven experience designing and deploying large-scale systems on GCP.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in GCP services: Big Query, Iceberg, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Feature Store etc.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Go, or similar.
- Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness).
- Knowledge of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Excellent Terraform understanding and hands on experience
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Developer certification.
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with machine learning services and Generative and Agentic AI ecosystem on GCP.
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology governance risk and compliance processes such as policies, control standards, risk management concepts, or information security
