About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director to join our Real Estate Capital Markets Origination team. (Senior Lead Real Estate Capital Markets Origination Specialist) This role is responsible for leading CMBS product coverage for new and existing borrower relationships. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of rating agency methodology, investor considerations, capital stack optimization, and an ability to manage a team through the loan closing process. Additionally, candidates should expect a strong team culture, working across all operating functions of the team, including underwriting, securitization, and distribution.
In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence business relationships with large borrowers and mortgage bankers within a specific geographic area for highly complex business and technical needs across Commercial Mortgage Origination functional area
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique products, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require thorough knowledge of loan products
Provide market intelligence within Commercial Mortgage Origination functional area to achieve a result-oriented edge
Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that drive the Mortgage Origination team to meet functional area objectives while leveraging solid understanding of commercial mortgage origination
Strategically engage with peers, colleagues, and managers to develop client relationships, and achieve business objectives within Commercial Mortgage Origination functional area
Serve as an expert advisor to secondary market, investors, and rating agencies
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Real Estate Capital Markets Origination experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
7+ years' experience originating commercial mortgage-backed securities loans
Experience underwriting commercial mortgage-backed securities loans
Proven track record working with broker referrals to source commercial mortgage-backed securities loans
Experience reviewing legal documents for commercial mortgage-backed securities loans
Excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly in Excel (financial modeling, macros, pivot tables, lookups, SQL/VBA)
Experience in capital markets lending and securitization, including an understanding of rating agency cash‑flow treatment, valuation approaches, and structural considerations
Strong financial modeling capabilities, with the ability to build, interpret, and stress‑test complex CRE cash flow and financial models
Exceptional analytical skills, with high attention to detail, accuracy, and data validation
Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities, with sound judgment in evaluating complex situations
Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex concepts clearly
Job Expectations:

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$215,000.00 - $355,000.00Benefits
