Wells Fargo’s Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) team is an integrated, forward-looking product organization with end-to-end payments, data, liquidity and associated lending solutions that enable our clients to achieve their business objectives in an evolving digital world.

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Accountability Specialist (Third Party Risk Management Lead) in the Global Payments and Liquidity (GPL) Business Accountability Front Line Risk Execution Third Party Services team.

The team provides centralized management of GPL’s vendor support needs including contract, vendor and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) through collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and internal support teams. We simplify the vendor onboarding and contract management process for the internal GPL customer while identifying, minimizing and managing all third-party risk. These vendors provide services and technologies that both support the GPL business and product and services offered to customers.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives with broad impact which are designed to mitigate current and emerging business risk issues and concerns; act as key participant in large-scale, cross-functional planning for the business

  • Assess, analyze, and design complex and multi-faceted controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, including ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, technology impacts, and monitoring

  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business’s functional area or products, operations, and regulatory environment; facilitate decision-making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans; influence and lead key business partners to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid to senior-level managers to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in interpreting, developing, and implementing risk-mitigating strategies

  • Act as liaison for the business with external parties to support timeliness, appropriate response strategy, and effectiveness of communications and materials

  • May lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

  • Advocate for GPL third-party support needs by understanding, evaluating, documenting and fully scoping their third-party support needs to identify and onboard new vendors in support of approved business initiatives. This includes Engagement Manager/Primary Business Liaison and Relationship Manager duties partnering with Supplier Management Consultant’s, subject matter experts and Third-Party Officers to complete Risk assessments and develop onboarding timelines and project plans

  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor vendor performance, capability and capacity including facilitating periodic Business Reviews and invoice review and approval

  • Proactively track, monitor and manage all support requests, while managing stakeholder expectations and support partner progress

  • Simplify the contract management process for the GPL customer by partnering with them, the Supply Chain Consultant and vendor for timely contract execution. This includes including the appropriate performance metrics and being the contract SME for your assigned engagements

  • Extracting data from various systems to analyze trends and summarize Engagement portfolio activity, trends and forecast for management and Risk reporting


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Experience with Third-Party Risk and/or Supply Chain Contract management working directly with vendors


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Third-Party Risk Manager in an Engagement or Relationship Manager role in the Financial Services or related Industry

  • Working knowledge of Wells Fargo’s Third-Party system of record, STORM and/or Ariba

  • Familiar with Treasury Management products and/or complementary services

  • Experience combining, analyzing and reporting on data in Excel using Pivot tables and lookups for management reporting purposes. This includes drafting summary level comments and presenting information to explain trends or conclusions from the underlying data


Job Expectations:

  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship

  • This position is a hybrid work model. Must be willing to work out of the Charlotte, NC office approximately 3 days a week
