About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Full Stack Developer) who will be part of building Observability capabilities with technology led innovation at an enterprise scale to transform Telemetry, Monitoring and Observability for on-prem platforms, as well as private and public cloud to improve availability.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Provide strategic guidance, direction, and expertise to leadership in implementing innovative, high‑impact business solutions.
  • Stay current on industry’s best practices and emerging technologies, recommending innovations that improve operations or strengthen the organization’s competitive advantage.
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Lead projects or serve as a peer mentor.
  • Champion the adoption of AI and agentic systems within observability, including:
    • Intelligent insights and anomaly detection
    • Guided root‑cause analysis and remediation
    • Automation to reduce operational toil


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of strong Software Engineering experience with modern programming languages.
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, Java Spring Boot, ReactJS, Spring Framework, UML, NoSQL and SQL Databases, Kafka pub/sub model, ETL, Microservices Development, Kubernetes.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing AI-powered products end-to-end Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and optimization.
  • Experience in building and deploying microservices and cross channel restful Application Programming Interface (API)
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience in Data analysis, Data Import and Data Feeds
  • Experience with Cloud, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Open Telemetry, Time Series Metrics, Capacity, Machine Learning, or Synthetics monitoring tools experience
  • Deep technical understanding of core concepts, memory management, multi-threading, REST based services, React and Spring/Spring Boot.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
  • Experience in one or a combination of the following: Capacity Analytics, time series metrics analysis, Telemetry, Monitoring, Observability
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, and product operating model
  • Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture: solutions development
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces
