About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Valuations Senior Manager. Your role covers I&P jobs responsible for processing, monitoring, and examining client collateral information on asset-based loans. Conducts verifications on account debtors, including high risk-rated, larger, more complex borrowers, and for new loans/prospective customers.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop a Commercial Valuations team of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with Commercial Valuations functional area or who are affected by its outcomes
  • Review, comprehend, and analyze financial statements, inventory reports, and fixed asset listings for the purpose of estimating Net Orderly Liquidation Value and Net Forced Liquidation Value against inventory, machinery, and equipment assets in a borrowing base structure
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development within Commercial Valuations functional area
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of a Commercial Valuations team to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for Commercial Valuations operations with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
  • Collaborate with and influence Commercial Valuations professionals, including senior managers, as well as interact directly with external customers
  • Interact with third party appraisal firms, business development, credit, underwriting, and portfolio management, on individual transactions and is required to effectively communicate analytical results through both written word and verbal communication
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Commercial Valuations

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Commercial Valuations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Commercial Banking Loan Syndication
  • 4+ years of Collateral Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education.
  • 3+ Leadership experience
  • Knowledge on the structure of Asset Based lending loans and end to end knowledge of the credit life cycle in Syndication loan.
  • Knowledge in reviewing and analyzing the Collateral values from a Borrowing base Certificate prepared by the customers or Agent bank.
  • Understanding of how to reconcile the books of bank in Syndication Loan portfolio.
  • Exposure in Analyzing AR Aging reports and decipher appraisal values from field exam report which are upstream process in Collateral Management.

Job Expectations:

  • Applicants must be amenable to work on US or night shift, Mon-Fri, weekend off.
  • Applicants must be amenable to work onsite, 5/NEO, BGC, Taguig City.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Commercial valuations professionals, ensuring effective Collateral Management and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with stakeholders and internal partners, understanding their needs and delivering best in class services.
  • Oversee preparation of accurate and detailed valuations of collateral based on the Borrowing base certificate Source from customer/ Agent bank, ensuring the proper controls are in place to protect the bank's assets and to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Make recommendations to senior management on ways to limit the bank's exposure on assigned collateral.
  • Identify and recommend new business opportunities contributing to the growth of the team. Also come up with process improvement ideas and risk control development within Collateral functional area.
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives, and operations of Collateral functional area and team to meet business objectives.
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for Collateral functions with low to moderate complexity within scope of responsibility.
  • Collaborate and consult with Collateral team peers, colleagues, and multiple level managers as well as interact directly with internal customers.
  • Serve as the liaison to Regional Portfolio Managers, Regional Credit Managers, operations, and client services for items related to collateral activity.
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent.
  • As a senior manager lead one of the initiatives such as L&D, Careers, Communication, Risk, Business Acumen & Strategy, etc.
  • Exceptional time management abilities, demonstrated by having robust capacity plan in place to manage peaks and trough in workload.
  • Consistent, reliable attention to detail and high standard of accuracy, while also being able to “zoom out” and consider whether something makes sense in the bigger picture.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Collateral Management processes and guidelines, to actively develop individual team members skill & proficiency.
  • Strong technical acumen: Should have an advance understanding of loan system such as ACBS, LoanIQ, AFS which are widely used System of Record for managing Syndicated loans across global banks.
  • Curiosity and an ardent desire to learn more and develop skills independently – learning is a mindset, not a task to complete.

  • Vendor and Technology Evaluation: Assess AI tools and platforms for suitability, scalability, and alignment with Wells Fargo’s enterprise standards.
