About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Designer
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives including those that provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
- Develop and execute customer experience solutions for online applications and websites
- Be accountable for overseeing the execution of strategic design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
- Review and analyze complex industry leading user interface design solutions that require the evaluation of multiple factors
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
- Manage the execution of strategic design projects that influence design and strategic direction of the company
- Serve as design advocate with the ability to forecast and assess industry trends and their impact on the company's product design alternatives
- Build and enhance working relationships within the information and interface design function and community outside of the company
- Provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
- Lead customer experience strategy for platforms and products
- Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations and participate in roadmap planning and virtual teams
- Make decisions in customer experience strategy for platforms and products requiring understanding of the function and compliance requirements
- Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholder
- Influence roadmaps and business decisions by providing customer experience considerations
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Online and Digital Product Design, Information Sciences, Graphic, and Visual Arts experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in UX, product design, or interaction design, with at least 3+ years in a lead or principal role driving end-to-end design for complex digital products
Strong expertise in user-centered design practices, including user research, journey mapping, information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing
Demonstrated ability to translate complex data, Gen AI, AI/ML, or technical workflows into intuitive, human-centered experiences
Hands-on proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, or equivalent
Experience establishing and evolving design systems, component libraries, and accessibility standards across multiple products and teams
Ability to partner effectively with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to influence product strategy and execution
Strong storytelling and executive-level communication skills, with the ability to present design rationale, trade-offs, and insights to senior leadership
Experience mentoring designers, conducting design reviews, and raising the overall design maturity of teams
Familiarity with Agile / Lean product development methodologies and working within fast-paced, iterative delivery environments
Knowledge of designing for data-heavy applications, dashboards, and analytics experiences is strongly preferred
Exposure to AI-driven user experiences (e.g., recommendations, copilots, automation, decision support) is a plus
