About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of a Risk Rating application supporting credit risk assessment and decisioning. This role will be responsible for defining and evolving risk rating capabilities, ensuring alignment with credit policy, regulatory expectations, and business objectives.
The ideal candidate brings strong credit risk domain expertise, including borrower quality and collateral ratings, a proven product management background, and hands‑on experience applying Generative AI (GenAI) to enhance risk analysis, automation, explainability, and user productivity within a highly governed environment.
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in product management initiatives and deliverables for product lines or services
- Contribute to product analysis across applicable markets, conduct market research and market results-oriented analysis
- Review and analyze marketing programs for new products or enhancements including identification of market segments, product positioning, product bundling, pricing and profitability
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet project goals, objectives and deliverables
- Ensure programs adhere to compliance, privacy regulations and policies
- Collaborate and consult with managers, analysts and project teams to ensure that goals are achieved
- Lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Product Management experience, product development experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Product Management experience.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk rating frameworks, including borrower quality and collateral assessment.
- Experience delivering products using agile methodologies with cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem‑solving capabilities.
- Experience with risk rating, underwriting, credit decisioning, or loan origination platforms.
- Familiarity with AI/ML governance, model risk management, and regulatory expectations related to AI.
- Experience working in regulated financial services environments.
- Knowledge of workflow orchestration and decisioning engines.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution.
Job Expectations:
- Own the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle for the Risk Rating application and related capabilities.
- Define measurable product outcomes aligned to business performance, risk management objectives, and regulatory expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve risk accuracy, transparency, efficiency, and scalability through technology and AI‑driven solutions.
- Partners with risk rating methodology, Gen AI, and technology teams to ensure risk rating methodologies are accurately represented in the application.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of borrower quality assessments, including financial strength, management quality, industry risk, and operating performance.
- Own and manage the product backlog, including epics, features, and high‑quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria documented in JIRA.
- Lead backlog refinement, prioritization, and planning to maximize business and risk value.
- Work closely with engineering, QA, and business partners to drive iterative delivery using agile methodologies.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Serve as the primary product contact for stakeholders across risk, business, technology, compliance, and operations.
- Clearly communicate product direction, priorities, dependencies, and trade‑offs to senior leadership.
