About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Specialist in the Auto Operations Control team. This team supports the Auto Operations group within Consumer Lending Operations. The role will focus on supporting the design and implementation of two key strategic Auto programs being implemented over the next two years and work directly with all teams and support partners within the Auto Line of Business.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating current and emerging risk exposures within Control Management functional area
  • Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and business controls
  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
  • Provide guidance to business groups on the development, implementation, and monitoring of business specific programs to identify, assess, and mitigate risk
  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations
  • Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area
  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
  • associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
  • Support other BAU Auto Operations control activities, including monitoring of metrics, design and oversight of controls and support of RCSA related tasks.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of operational risk and compliance framework, primarily in the banking industry and its related operations.
  • Experience with issue management lifecycle including root cause analysis, analyzing risks and remediation plans for resolution, and testing effectiveness (design and performance) of associated controls.
  • Risk and Control Self- Assessment (RCSA) and Issue Management experience
  • Experience in developing and/or monitoring key risk indicators
  • Experience with enterprise risk management framework including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • A BS/BA degree or higher preferred

Job Expectations:

  • Position offers a hybrid work schedule in which you are required to work in office 3 days per week at a minimum in one of the locations listed below
