About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Search Engine Optimization/ Generative Engine Optimization Lead Marketing Consultant subject matter expert to join the Enterprise Search Team

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and deliver advanced Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies to improve visibility and performance across traditional and AI‑driven search.

  • Use key search platforms to develop optimization recommendations: SEMRush, seoClarity, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Adobe Customer Journey Analytics

  • Lead search performance reporting and analysis, translating data into actionable insights that drive measurable gains in visibility, accuracy, sentiment, and engagement.

  • Provide expertise on how key elements (schema markup, canonicalization, hreflang, etc.) can be improved onsite to drive increased prominence in organic search

  • Monitor page performance and successfully troubleshoot indexation issues that may arise

  • Communicate how page experience, responsive design, site speed, and UX signals influence both traditional search rankings and AI‑driven discovery

  • Drive high‑impact, cross‑functional initiatives spanning marketing, digital, technology, and analytics.

  • Influence and scale AI Search optimizations, transitioning successful pilots into business‑as‑usual programs.

  • Manage agency and analytics vendor relationships, ensuring strong governance, quality, and business value.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to peers and leaders, from mid‑level managers through senior leadership.

  • Partner across lines of business, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to deliver enterprise‑wide marketing outcomes.

  • Use knowledge of Content Management Platforms and how SEO requirements integrate into authoring, governance, and release workflows to support evergreen content

Required qualifications: 5+ years of Marketing, Digital Marketing, Digital Platforms (i.e., Mobile or Social Media) experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired qualifications:

  • 2 + years of Google Search console platform

  • 5+ years combined Search Engine Optimization and Marketing analytics experience

  • Experience providing in-depth Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) recommendations

  • Experience with the following tools, or similar: SEMRUSH, SEO Clarity, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Adobe Customer Journey Analytics

  • Experience building SEO and GEO reports and communicating insights to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong presentation skills: ability to build compelling stories and present to large groups

  • Will need to keep up with evolving AI Search Landscape, and learn as they go, monitoring, testing, and measuring evolving SEO and GEO best practices
