About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Operations Director to head the teams within their Trade Support, Collateral Management and Trade Settlements group across India and Philippines. This is a senior leadership role within WIM Ops team, both across India and the Philippines and globally.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop multiple specialized teams of less experienced managers and professional individual contributors with focus on delivering highly complex tasks and risk services for cross functional stakeholders, internal partners associated with the function or affected by its outcome
  • Work with senior management to develop and execute business plans
  • Integrate efforts of cross department initiatives with core business objectives
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for process improvement and risk control development within the Operations management functional area
  • Provide expertise on managing the most highly complex technical and operational processes with cross-group impact
  • Lead Operations management team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet higher risk deliverables
  • Interpret and develop range of policies and procedures relating to Operational management area
  • Collaborate with and influence functional team on the operational processes and initiatives
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Operations
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Operational Leadership & Excellence

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of trade support, collateral management, and settlements operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong controls across geographies.
  • Oversee critical post‑trade activities including trade validation, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations, exception management, and collateral movements.
  • Drive operational excellence across productivity, quality, capacity planning, issue remediation, and service level performance.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a multi‑year transformation roadmap across securities operations.
  • Collaborate with senior U.S., India, and Philippines leaders to shape strategy and deliver enterprise initiatives.

Risk, Control & Compliance

  • Ensure robust controls across trade lifecycle, settlement finality, collateral exposure, and counterparty risk.
  • Ensure operational policies and procedures comply with regulatory and compliance requirements across securities operations.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Control teams to maintain a strong and transparent control environment.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for operational risk events, settlement failures, collateral shortfalls, and client impact issues.

People & Talent Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, and retain senior leaders with deep domain expertise in trade support, settlements, and collateral management.
  • Build leadership depth through succession planning, skill portfolio management, and targeted development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, inclusion, and continuous improvement across geographies.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Own expense, headcount, and resource planning in partnership with Finance and global stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute measurement strategies to track outcomes, benefits realization, and remediation.

Leverage data and analytics to manage performance and drive continuous improvement across securities operations


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

The incumbent should have over 10 years of experience with Financial Services industry with a hands‑on leadership experience in the following areas:

Trade Support Operations

  • End‑to‑end post‑trade lifecycle including trade validation, confirmations, breaks management, and exception resolution across Equities, Fixed Income and Mutual Fund securities
  • Oversight of trade integrity, timeliness, and downstream impact to settlements and clients

Settlements Operations

  • Strong understanding of domestic and international settlement processes
  • Proven experience managing settlement risk, fails, reconciliation issues, and counterparty interactions
  • Accountability for settlement finality, controls, and regulatory adherence

Collateral Management

  • Operational oversight of collateral movements, margining, exposure monitoring, and exception handling
  • Experience managing collateral risk, shortfalls, disputes, and control frameworks
  • FINRA Series 99 preferred but not mandatory.
  • Key Result Areas (KRAs)
  • Plan and manage skill portfolio of staff in view of future needs.
  • Facilitate the progression of ideas to business cases and projects in accordance with agreed priorities.
  • Budget forward load in consultation with the US and India managers
  • Monitor expense budget items for his / her team.
  • Use optimal resourcing mix to attain financial goals.
  • Identify opportunities for transitions within the overall strategy of LOB.
  • Continually identify and drive opportunities for process improvement
  • Negotiate and manage deliverables involving diagnostic of the business requirements.
  • Establish effective communication with US Managers
