Global Transformation Lead - CIB COO Control Management

About this role:
This role sits within the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) COO Control Management organisation and is responsible for leading the risk
program and control transformation initiative across the global team.
The role is pivotal in driving risk program and control transformation covering a number of Compliance and Conduct risk programs, Risk and
Control Self Assessment, Issues Management, embedding proactive risk management, and optimising the control environment.
The individual will join a high-performing team of control professionals, championing innovation, transformation, automation, and enterprise
alignment while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across CIB, IRM and Audit.
In this role, you will:
- Risk Program Transformation: Lead and execute transformation initiatives focused on Compliance and Conduct Risk Programs inclusive of Senior Manager and Individual Accountability Regimes, New Business Initiatives, Financial Crimes, Conduct, Cross Border and Fraud
- Control Transformation: Drive front-to-back control transformation initiatives aligned with CIB COO and Control Management strategic goals, including embedding risk and control into business decision-making.
- Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA): Guide the CIB COO organisation through annual RCSA refreshes, including risk and control evaluations and collection of key metrics. Be point of escalation for RAU Owners and team during the risk assessment process.
- Issue Management: Coordinate with business and support partners for creation of Self-Disclosed issues in Issues Management system of record.
- Serve as an escalation point for control issues as a senior control leader in the organization
- Act as an advisor to more experienced leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk across different business lines
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex current and emerging risks requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, as well as good understanding of financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, and business process management
- Lead and mentor Control Management project or virtual teams
- Provide vision, direction, and expertise to more experienced leaders on implementing innovative and significant business solutions for highly complex risks associated with business operations
- Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report impact of decisions and business controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function
- Engage with all levels of roles across the business group, and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in Risk Management or Financial Services industry, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Extensive experience within a Frontline Control Management organisation
- Successful track record of RCSA programme delivery and execution
- Experience in Risk Management or Financial Services industry
- Issues Management experience in identifying, assessing, monitoring, reporting and validating Issues
- Experience in Regulatory requirements mapping to aligned controls, identification of deficient controls and required actions to remediate
