About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer. This position is one of the primary Business Control Management leads for Capital Finance/Asset Based Lending (ABL) line of business within Commercial Banking. This high impact position is a trusted partner and works closely with the leaders of ABL in proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks and designing controls.
In this role, you will:
Lead at least one RCSA RAU and be the day-to-day contact for execution of risk mitigation activities including RAU changes/enhancements. Support leadership on complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact
Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area
Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the RAU/business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant RAU, business group, or functional area
Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls
Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
Lead Control Management project for ABL, Credit Product Group and/or CB Control
Indirectly lead and provide direction to the team supporting the assigned RAU to achieve its objectives
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting Commercial Banking businesses, particularly Asset Based Lending, or complex credit products.
Strong knowledge and experience in leading risk and control identification methods and performing assessments (i.e. leading an RAU through the RCSA program requirements)
Knowledge and understanding on Control Programs including Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), executing the RCSA (risk identification, risk assessment - inherent/residual, and control design and Issue Management
Strong working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and applicable Corporate Policy requirements in order to identify areas of risk and issues for the LOB and/or provide credible challenge.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) and Veritas such as reporting and issue management
Direct experience with Issue Management Life Cycle and issue & corrective action remediation
Experience leading or coordinating work through offshore or indirect teams, including resources based in India or the Philippines.
Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization but also influence to ensure risks are appropriately mitigated in a timely and efficient manner.
Strong, proactive, individual contributor and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
Ability to identify and implement control optimization opportunities to drive efficiency and support business growth, whilst maintaining a strong control environment
Ability to effectively analyze, draw conclusions and make sound recommendations for the assigned RAU and broader line of business.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
