About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Capital Markets Middle Office Specialist for the Syndicate/Money Market/Brokered CD Middle Office Group as part of Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Operations division. Learn more about our career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

The Senior Capital Markets Middle Office Specialist will be responsible for monitoring daily trading activity, reconciling/investigating any discrepancies and trade settlement issues, and act as a desk liaison for various internal groups on all trading activity. They will assist the Brokered CD, Money Market, Corporate, Preferred, High Yield, and ABF Syndicate desks with these responsibilities while having to provide outstanding service. Details of the responsibilities will include drafting new deal term sheets, creating and maintaining new deal data in our internal systems, facilitating new security setups, regulatory report, coordinating with Syndicate Operation and creating ad hoc desk/mgmt. reporting, and handling inquiries from internal/external clients.

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for supporting internal and external customers by providing moderately complex support services in account management, operations, documentation, customer service and technical support

  • Assist in gathering data to support resolution of issues

  • Receive direction from manager and exercise judgment within defined parameters of the area while developing understanding of various functions, policies and procedures

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Identify, research and resolve problems in a timely fashion following established guidelines

  • Reconcile reports and transactions with differentiating processes

  • Resolving sales team and customer inquiries

  • Revising departmental procedures

  • Coordinating situations that involve other departments

  • Cover overflow from other desks in the department as needed

  • Has extensive internal sales team contact; work under moderate to minimal supervision

  • May participate in identifying external customer needs and evaluating risk, assisting with special projects related to product conversion and new product development, training and mentoring lower-level staff and participating in testing for technology changes

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree
  • Hands‑on experience supporting capital markets trading desks, including daily trade monitoring, reconciliation and settlement issue resolution, cross‑functional desk liaison support, and delivery of high‑quality service across a fast‑paced, multi‑asset environment
  • FINRA series 7, 79, 63, and/or 99
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Sound communication skills, both written and verbal, with senior executive‑level leaders
  • Demonstrated capability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Proven effectiveness in working collaboratively within a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives to optimize operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying key issues, engaging affected parties, designing solutions, securing buy‑in, and communicating effectively through resolution
  • Proficiency in consolidating large volumes of project status information to identify key risks, customer impact, financial implications, delays, and issues that pose material risk
  • Demonstrated aptitude for identifying and evaluating exposures and potential risks
  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into executive level communications
  • Understanding of key operational risk components, including experience driving consistency and quality across all aspects of a risk function
  • Ability to understand and work with data, including creating alignment among various data sources, developing trends, and creating risk-based analytics from multiple information sources
