About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Risk Analytics Consultant.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives, and delivering insight and decision strategies within analytics and reporting, and contribute to large-scale planning related to Risk Analytics
  • Review and analyze moderately complex data aggregation, forecasting, reporting, and programming models
  • Be responsible for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation in alignment with policy governance
  • Resolve data, production, business modeling, and lead team to meet Risk Analytics deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk reporting policies, modeling strategies, procedures, regulatory requests, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, experienced managers, compliance, and technology to resolve modeling, forecasting, and production issues, and achieve analytic and reporting goals
  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor less experienced staff
  • Partner with cross enterprise risk analysts in development of common modeling strategies


Required Qualifications:

  • Post graduate degree in Business or in a related discipline such as accounting
  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: audit, compliance, operational risk, or governance
  • Experience in Corporate & Investment Banking will be an added advantage
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources and deliver results quickly.
  • Ability to credibly challenge, conduct tough conversations and effectively communicate with various levels of management.
  • General knowledge of industry standards and best practices around control evaluations / testing, internal audit and risk management processes.
  • Experience with risk reporting and analytics
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, communicate effectively and persuasively to convey solutions to a broad range of stakeholders: business managers, operations managers etc.
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and identifying issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry, including risk management, issue management, compliance, risk governance, and/or audit operations
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Ability to think strategically, implement, and deliver business objectives.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, project management and prioritizing skills


Desired Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications from ISACA or IIA.org preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of continuous monitoring tools/detection tools/controls/processes, and ability to identify emerging risks and offer mitigations recommendations.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness in all areas.
  • Consultative in approach, understanding and anticipating business needs and proactively delivering solutions.


Job Expectations:

  • Manage the end-to-end policy administration/publication process using Wells Fargo’s standard policy governance system and tools for all RCRO Americas and International owned policies, procedures and associated reference documents (“Policy Documents”).
  • Act as the primary policy contact point and subject matter expert to support the RCRO and regional risk type leads on all matters related to policy administration, review and publication.
  • Drive consultations with a diverse group of stakeholders across business, risk and functional teams to obtain inputs, comprehensively review and prepare for approval all Policy Documents, and agree implementation actions where appropriate.
  • Develop and coordinate appropriate communications strategies to facilitate understanding and adoption of any enhanced, retired and newly introduced Policy Documents across the Americas and International Regions.
  • Monitor the RCRO policy portfolio to ensure all Policy Documents adhere to Wells Fargo’s policy management procedures including minimum review cycles, appropriate stakeholder review, and sufficient policy compliance monitoring Provide risk management support to SP&G in identifying, assessing, designing, and implementing risk mitigation strategies, processes, and controls.
  • Help strengthening the business control environment through proactive evaluation of controls, identification of issues and by providing consultative guidance.
  • Evaluate, update and improve governance routines as enterprise requirements evolve, and to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, reporting and dashboards to monitor execution and effectiveness of in scope control inventory for SP&G owners and leaders.
  • Prepare high quality presentations and assist in discussions for review with senior CIB Risk stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and maintaining metrics to track progress against objectives and key results.
  • Management of controls and leverage automation, data analytics and visualization tools to optimize risk management processes and streamline reporting mechanism.
  • Leverage data analytics tools to generate actionable insights, create dashboards, and present project performance metrics to stakeholders.
  • Leverage tools such as Microsoft Project, SharePoint, JIRA, Power BI, Tableau, Python for reporting and data visualization.
  • Help is defining project scope, objectives, create project plans, execute, and monitor progress to ensure timely and successful project completion.
