Withum’s Valuation Consulting Services practice prides itself on understanding clients’ business strategies and needs. Our team assists companies in meeting business requirements related to valuation, risk management, transfer pricing, M & A Transactions, economic analysis, fairness opinions, and model validation.
Position Overview:
As a Corporate Value Associate Intern, you will gain hands-on, real-world experience in a client-facing role within Withum’s advisory team. You will actively participate in projects involving business valuation, financial modeling, and consulting services for a diverse range of clients. This position will give you the opportunity to develop essential valuation skills while working with experienced professionals. You will also participate in the firms business development initiatives, focusing on market and sector research as well as client retention opportunities.
Internship Periods:
Winter Internship: January through April
Summer Internship: June through August
Applications will be reviewed end of July and end of August
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of valuation analyses for various purposes, including financial reporting, gift & estate tax, and advisory services.
- Assist in reviewing third-party appraisals for audit support and financial reporting purposes.
- Complete data entry of financial statements and tax returns into Excel-based models.
- Conduct market, industry, and economic research to support valuation analysis.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to client communications regarding valuation matters.
- Collaborate with different teams, including Corporate Value Consulting and Forensic Value Consulting.
- Assist in writing reports, letters, and other client deliverables.
- Participate in trainings and career insight presentations.
- Write articles on practice related matters using information gained during course of internship.
- Assist in business development needs.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a 4 or 5-year academic institution pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, STEM, or a related field, with an outstanding academic record (minimum 3.7 GPA required).
- Successful completion of a previous internship or co-op in a related field (investment banking, valuation, financial services, etc.) is preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit strong attention to detail, business acumen, and professional writing skills.
- Strong interest in quantitative and economic analysis, with an understanding of financial statements and tax returns is preferred, but not required.
- Proven leadership experience and an entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrated through extracurricular activities or work experiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to excel in client-facing roles.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
