This Commodity Manager will be responsible for supporting indirect procurement activities for several departments with emphasis on supporting Wolfspeed requirements for Professional Services, Consulting, and Staff Augmentation. The individual in this position will be responsible for aspects of supplier selection and ensuring alignment between suppliers’ deliverables and the needs of the business.

The Day-to-Day:

    • Identify and work to implement cost avoidance or cost reduction opportunities.
    • Implement contract lifecycle management, facilitate timely contract reviews, and manage renewals with key departmental stakeholders.
  • Within the assigned commodities, the CM will own and manage the Requests for Information, Quote, or Proposal (RFI, RFQ, RFP or collectively, RFX) process from start to finish.
  • The CM will lead the contract review process, both by providing detailed insights in review of specific documents and also by steering each contract through the review steps.
  • The successful CM is an experienced professional, able to work independently and requesting support when needed. This position also requires organization of information and projects, prioritization of tasks for self and collaborators, ability to self-manage timelines/deadlines, accountability/follow-through, and soliciting and incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
  • The successful CM demonstrates excellent communication skills by:
    • building relationships at all levels of the organization
    • presenting to senior leadership with poise and precision
    • striking the balance between discourse, persuasion, and consensus
    • tailoring delivery and message to each audience
  • While Professional Services will be the primary focus of this position, there may be occasional needs to support other requirements or stakeholders of the Business Support Services team.
