Project Description
Summer internship position in Minneapolis, MN. The role requires being onsite and requires working full time during summer break from school. Applicants must be able to relocate during the duration of the internship to Minneapolis, or already live within a commutable distance.
Under guidance from project Engineering and Design services staff, assist in the planning, design and development of construction drawings for various projects. Provide field support including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation. Requirement to complete design assignments and review work for accuracy and completeness is essential.
This will be a summer opportunity with the potential to extend into a school semester. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer and 15-20 hrs./wk. during a school semester.
Minimum Requirements
Enrolled in programs focused on Science, Technology, or Mathematics, such as computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, accounting, data science, drafting, gas design, electric design, project management, construction management, chemistry, biology, environmental studies, natural sciences, and similar.
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering internship position in Minneapolis, MN. The role requires being onsite. The internship requires working from May 2025 - September 2025. Applicants must be able to relocate for several months to work at the Riverside Generating facility, or already live within a commutable distance from the work site.
Work with the engineering staff to support capital work at combined cycle facilities. Will perform entry level engineering analysis doing tasks supporting both project management and construction.
Tasks include submittal coordination, drawing support, construction planning and oversight, safety observations, and vendor outreach and coordination. Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidate will gain significant professional and technical skills.
Travel up to 50% of the time to nearby facilities for meetings, inspections, and other job assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbally
Must be self-motivated, have good technical skills, and ability to work well with others.
Must have reliable personal transportation and be able to travel to multiple sites in the Minneapolis metro on a daily basis.
