Position Summary

Perform property and sales/use tax reporting, analysis and accounting, leveraging data analytics and technology resources. Participate in property and sales/use tax planning and research, and the implementation of regulatory changes.

This position can be filled at multiple levels. The selected candidate will be aligned to the appropriate level based on their education and experience.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Property and Sales/Use Tax Compliance - Prepares multistate property and sales/use tax filings timely and accurately per statutory requirements. Reconciles tax bills and GL accounts and prepares tax payments.

  • Data Analysis and Technology - Monitor the gathering of tax data from source systems to ensure the continued confidence in the completeness of the data used by the reporting process. Gather and process data from external sources to meet the statutory and analytical reporting needs of the property tax reporting system.

  • Accounting and Forecasting - Complete accounting and forecasting related to property and sales/use taxes in compliance with GAAP, regulatory, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Provide proactive process improvement recommendations and assist in implementing the accepted solutions.

  • Tax Audits - Assist in administration of audits, leveraging data analysis and technology resources as appropriate.

  • Implement Technical Amendments and Conduct Transaction Research - Participate in the implementation of tax statutes, regulations and rules to ensure conformity with these authorities. Assist in reviewing the taxability decision of existing transactions.

  • Assist in planning and research projects and all other duties as apparent or as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

Property and Sales Tax Analyst II ($62,500-$88,766)

  • Degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, management information systems, data science, or related discipline.

  • Two years of analyst experience.

  • Ability to effectively use Excel spreadsheets and word processing software.

  • Knowledge of tax software and related systems preferred (Billing, Supply Chain, General Ledger).

  • Demonstrated communication, relationship, and analytical skills.

  • Experience with sales/use and property tax research and analysis preferred.

  • Public Accounting experience preferred.

Sr. Property and Sales Tax Analyst ($71,900-$102,100)

  • Degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, management information systems, data science or related discipline.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting, budgeting, billing and purchasing procedures and systems preferred.

  • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of property and sales/use tax policy and procedures of taxing jurisdictions preferred.

  • Four years of analyst experience.

  • Proficient at database and analytical and reporting tools.

  • Demonstrated communication, relationship, and analytical skills.
