Sr Director Data and Analytics
Position Summary:
The Sr Director Data and Analytics will oversee the delivery of a robust data fabric architecture, ensuring seamless integration, self-service capabilities, and high-quality data for enterprise use. This role also emphasizes leading the organization-wide adoption of Data and Analytics, including managing people-centric change processes and deploying Data and Analytics related tools to empower business units. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for strategic sourcing of employees, contractors, and vendor partners to enable a scalable resourcing model that supports the organization’s evolving needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership through influence while maintaining a results-oriented focus on delivering business value.
Essential Responsibilities:
Leadership and People Development
- Lead teams across core competencies including data platforms, business intelligence, data governance, Data and Analytics delivery, and program management to deliver on enterprise data and analytics goals.
- Foster a servant leadership culture that prioritizes collaboration, empathy, empowerment, and trust-building across teams.
- Champion organizational change management to ensure successful adoption of Data tools and processes across all business units.
- Develop talent strategies that enhance team capabilities through mentoring, training programs, strategic recruitment, and upskilling initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders through charisma, rapport-building, and consistent delivery of results.
Execution and Delivery
- Deliver a scalable data fabric architecture that integrates disparate data pipelines while enabling self-service publishing and consumption capabilities.
- Ensure the data fabric maintains high standards for data quality, governance, compliance, and security to support enterprise-wide decision-making.
- Lead the enterprise-wide rollout of data and analytics initiatives by implementing tools that support generative data and analytics applications, predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and other use cases.
- Drive adoption of data and analytics technologies by addressing organizational resistance through structured change management programs tailored to various stakeholder groups.
- Oversee the deployment of data and analytics enablement platforms that bridge gaps between enterprise knowledge systems and data and analytics technologies for seamless integration into business workflows.
Strategic Sourcing and Scalable Resourcing
- Develop a scalable resourcing model by strategically sourcing employees, contractors, and vendor partners to meet evolving business demands.
- Build partnerships with external vendors to bring in specialized expertise or tools as needed to accelerate delivery timelines or enhance capabilities.
- Optimize resource allocation across internal teams and external partners to ensure efficient execution of projects while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Monitor workforce planning needs to ensure alignment with long-term strategic goals while maintaining flexibility for short-term priorities.
Strategic Alignment
- Translate business needs into actionable strategies for data delivery and data analytics implementation that align with broader organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives based on their alignment with organizational goals and measurable business impact.
- Balance short-term tactical wins with long-term strategic investments in data infrastructure and data analytics capabilities to ensure sustainable growth.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with the VP of Data Analytics, AI, and Architecture to ensure alignment between strategy development and execution efforts.
- Build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups by clearly communicating technical concepts in accessible language tailored to non-technical audiences.
- Advocate for data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization through education campaigns, demonstration projects, and success stories from early wins.
Operational Excellence
- Establish clear accountability frameworks for team members responsible for delivering data fabric components and data analytics solutions.
- Implement project management methodologies to ensure timely delivery across parallel initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor progress using KPIs tied to business outcomes such as increased operational efficiency or enhanced decision-making capabilities enabled by data and analytics solutions.
Preferred Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in delivering large-scale data management or analytics solutions within enterprise environments.
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams to execute complex initiatives involving both technical infrastructure delivery and organizational change management.
- Strong understanding of data fabric architectures, self-service data models, governance frameworks, scalable resourcing strategies, and enterprise-grade data and analytics toolsets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage enterprise-wide rollouts of technology solutions while addressing people-centric challenges through structured change management approaches.
- Experience in strategic sourcing of employees (full-time staff), contractors (temporary resources), and vendor partners (external expertise) to enable flexible yet scalable resourcing models for complex projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels through trust-building relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science).
