Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in a critical role that combines engineering expertise with hands-on electrical systems management. This position requires an individual who can seamlessly transition between design and implementation, taking ownership of complex electrical infrastructure projects from conception through completion. Responsibilities:
39.23 - 52.31 USD hourly
- Design, model, develop, and test electrical systems, structures, and components while applying standard engineering principles
- Install and maintain DC plant systems including rectifiers, breakers, wiring, terminations, batteries, network communication, configuration, AC input, and DC output
- Perform installation and maintenance of AC UPS systems including APC Lithium-Ion UPS units, transformers, PDUs, network communication, and cable management
- Execute comprehensive grounding and bonding for buildings, towers, equipment, and interior/exterior installations
- Maintain and interface with Siteboss or alarm recognition systems both remotely and on-site
- Install and modify AC power systems including outlets, breakers, conduit, wire, devices, fuses, and converters
- Create Bills of Material for projects such as grounding and bonding, AC or DC UPS, pLTE, and cable management initiatives
- Develop Methods of Procedure for change requests across all project types
- Troubleshoot tickets involving power or UPS systems and implement effective solutions
- Refresh and clean MDF and IDF spaces with proper cable management and equipment upgrades
- Conduct Arc Flash remediations addressing undersized wire or conduit, broken equipment, NEC code violations, and safety issues
- Document existing equipment and determine life expectancy for replacement planning
- Escort and supervise external contractors during various work activities
- Receive, organize, and maintain inventory of replacement equipment and project materials
- Monitor product quality and control process efficiency throughout all installations
- Investigate root causes of failures and recommend improvements to maintain quality standards
- Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test system operations
- Evaluate design effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety for all electrical systems Skills:
- Proficiency in using electrical instruments including voltmeters, ammeters, conduit benders, and hand tools
- Strong understanding of AC and DC power systems and their integration
- Knowledge of NEC codes and electrical safety standards
- Ability to recognize and address Arc Flash hazards and safety issues
- Understanding of proper Personal Protective Equipment selection and usage
- Competency in network communication systems and remote monitoring platforms
- Cable management and infrastructure organization expertise
- Strong documentation and technical writing abilities
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Understanding of DEMARC and scope boundaries in multi-vendor environments Previous Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with DC plant and AC UPS installation and maintenance
- Proven track record in electrical system design and testing
- Experience creating Bills of Material and Methods of Procedure
- Background in troubleshooting complex electrical systems
- History of managing electrical infrastructure projects from start to finish Qualifications:
- Relevant electrical engineering degree or equivalent technical certification
- Valid electrician's license or certification as required by local jurisdiction
- Arc Flash training and certification
