Financial Analyst II

Location: Denver, CO / Minneapolis, MN / Roseville, MN

Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Analyst II to join the Technology Services organization supporting a portfolio of projects within a large regulated energy environment. This role acts as a key liaison between project teams and multiple accounting functions including capital asset accounting, business area finance, and corporate accounting.

The Financial Analyst will provide financial analysis, manage accrual-based accounting activities, and support project managers with financial reporting and compliance activities. This position is highly collaborative and works closely with portfolio coordinators, project managers, and corporate accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis supporting a portfolio of technology projects
• Manage accrual-based accounting processes and support month-end close activities
• Pull and analyze financial actuals and project spend data
• Prepare and validate as-built financials for project accounting
• Partner with project managers to monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
• Act as liaison between project teams and accounting groups including capital asset accounting, business finance, and corporate accounting
• Ensure financial compliance within a regulated industry environment
• Support financial reporting, reconciliation, and documentation requirements
• Collaborate with portfolio coordinators and cross-functional teams to support project financial health
  
  

Typical Day

• Supporting a team of approximately 10 Portfolio Coordinators
• Working closely with project managers, controllers, and corporate accounting teams
• Analyzing financial data and preparing reports for project portfolios
• Assisting with financial processes tied to project delivery and month-end close
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting
• Strong understanding of financial analysis and accounting principles
• Experience performing month-end financial activities
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
• Experience working with SAP
• Experience with SharePoint
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated industry (utilities, banking, government, etc.)
• Familiarity with ServiceNow
• Experience working with financial or project accounting tools such as PowerPlan
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (or currently working toward one)

Pay Rate Range
