Strategy Insights & Planning Consultant
Strategy Insights & Planning Consultants deliver high-quality solutions for our clients. Consultants possess unstructured problem-solving skills as well as strong analytic, synthesis and communication skills. Consultants may work on multiple projects simultaneously. As Consultants advance in their career, they specialize in a particular industry, practice area and/or client relationship.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with pharmaceutical and biotech clients to address complex challenges across clinical quality, operations, and risk management
Work with project leadership to define scope, shape problem statements, and design tailored solutions that reflect deep industry and regulatory context
Lead key project workstreams by managing timelines, organizing project data, coordinating internal and client-facing meetings, and ensuring overall progress
Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses—leveraging both operational data and stakeholder input—to identify root causes, surface risks, and generate actionable insights
Synthesize findings and translate technical and operational complexity into clear, concise recommendations for clients and ZS teams
Act as a thought partner to clients and internal stakeholders, helping shape strategy and improve approaches to risk-based monitoring, GCP compliance, inspection readiness, and quality systems
Support business development by identifying client needs, contributing to proposal development, and helping articulate our value proposition
Coach and mentor Associates and other junior team members on project delivery and clinical quality domain knowledge
Contribute to internal knowledge-building efforts in QORM, including methodology development and capability enhancement
What You’ll Bring
- MBA with a bachelor's (or graduate degree) in life sciences, engineering, public health, or a related discipline with a strong academic record. In lieu of an MBA, 5–8 years of relevant pharma industry experience will be considered
- Experience in clinical development or operations, with a focus on quality management systems, clinical trial risk oversight, inspection readiness, or trial process optimization
- Prior work in a pharma company, CRO, or related environment in roles such as Quality Manager, Clinical Trial Manager, Clinical Research Associate, or Risk Management lead
- Familiarity with GCP, ICH guidelines, and the operational realities of delivering global clinical trials
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex problems, extract insights from data, and recommend practical solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create client-ready deliverables and confidently engage with senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to manage project teams and workstreams
