Insights & Analytics group partners with clients to design and deliver solutions to help them tackle a broad range of business challenges. Our teams work on multiple projects simultaneously, leveraging advanced data analytics and problem-solving techniques. Our recommendations and solutions are based on rigorous research and analysis underpinned by deep expertise and thought leadership. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver impactful projects focused on optimizing manufacturing processes and improving operational efficiency for ZS clients across a variety of industries. This includes serving as a subject matter expert in manufacturing and process engineering, leading project teams, and contributing to the development of our Supply Chain and Manufacturing practice.

What you’ll do

• Lead consulting engagements focused on process design, operational optimization, and performance transformation across drug substance and drug product manufacturing
• Assess manufacturing and quality performance using operational data (e.g., OEE, yield, cycle time, deviations) and translate insights into structured, high-impact recommendations
• Facilitate cross-functional client workshops to identify bottlenecks, prioritize initiatives, and define value-driven improvement roadmaps
• Advice on tech transfer, scale-up, facility design, and capacity expansion strategies aligned to business and supply objectives
• Define KPI frameworks and digital use cases leveraging data from MES, LIMS, QMS, SAP, historians, and automation systems
• Shape smart manufacturing and automation strategies linking plant performance to broader supply chain and financial outcomes
• Develop ready deliverables and mentor junior team members to strengthen manufacturing and operations capabilities

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing operations, or technical consulting within pharma, biotech, or related process industries
• Strong hands-on experience in process optimization, capacity analysis, tech transfer, or scale-up in cGMP environments
• Solid understanding of quality systems (deviations, CAPAs, change control) and their impact on manufacturing performance
• Practical knowledge of manufacturing systems (MES, LIMS, QMS, SAP, historians) and how to use data for KPI tracking and performance improvement
• Familiarity with Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, automation, and analytics-driven decision making
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable business insights
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Fluency in English
