Job Purpose

To manage construction work and resource assignments in the most efficient, cost effective way to meet the work plan for National Grid based on workforce availability, performance, geographic optimization and schedule optimization.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the scheduling and coordination of short and long-term Opex and Capital construction projects, as well as emergent work.
  • Manage, balance and coordinate external and internal resources in order to optimize short and long term resource needs and deliver against agreed program of work.
  • Monitor and review work undertaken by project team in order to ensure appropriate use of materials, tools, equipment or resources and adherence to schedules.
  • Identify scheduling and need date risks due to resource constraints, field conditions, material and or equipment issues, and recommend appropriate action.
  • Support divisional reliability activities by making sure all activities are scheduled and progressed.
  • Oversee the bundling and prioritization of contingency and maintenance work in order to capitalize on opportunity for efficiencies and maximize fleet utilization.
  • Facilitate weekly construction meetings with stake holders to ensure optimum scheduling and compliance.
  • Promote and implement procedural best practice in resource management in order to ensure all working practice (and where relevant, health and safety standards) are compliant with National Grid policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to share best practice drive consistency in resource planning and ensure timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and 2-3 years of equivalent work experience is required.
  • Experience with Opex and Capital construction projects preferred.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.

More Information

Salary: $75,000 - $88,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
