About the role

Are you an experienced Project Manager with specialist knowledge about sustainability within the Property and Construction arena looking to join a dynamic business that is a contributor to achieving Net Zero?

We own and operate the electricity transmission network in England and Wales. Every time you plug in your phone or flick a light switch, we’ve played a part. Not only are we responsible for delivering energy to millions of homes and businesses, we are also driving the move to cleaner energy, and the Government’s target of net zero emissions by 2050.

To do this we need to maintain and upgrade our Corporate and Operational Property portfolios, and this is where you could contribute to a greener, more sustainable future - this is urgent, important work which generates a huge amount of excitement and responsibility.

It calls for people who are committed to using their expertise to create a better, more sustainable future. As one of our Project Managers (Built Environment), you'll be at the heart of these works, leading a multi-disciplinary team to design and deliver on time and to budget and safely. Working closely with a talented team of internal colleagues and external consultants and other specialists to meet the customer’s needs and expectations.

As part of our hybrid working approach, this role offers a mix of home, site and office working (Warwick / Midlands Area). We are open to full time, as well as flexible working arrangements.

About you

This is an experienced project management role, and you will be delivering your own projects. You will have experience of delivering several projects already and be able to demonstrate excellent Project Management skills whilst delivering complex multi-discipline projects within the built environment. You'll also need to have experience and specialist knowledge about how sustainability can be delivered and measured in the built environment.

You’ll be required to promote a positive safety culture, whilst successfully leading and influencing stakeholders and giving confident direction and guidance to the team.

  • Project Management processes and methodology, experience of delivery using framework of RIBA work stages, project cost estimates and budget preparation.
  • Experience of working with NEC form of contracts including Design and Building and Traditional approaches and knowledge and experience of the construction industry technical, risk and procurement techniques including contract management and CDM regulations.
  • Specialist knowledge of BREEAM, WELL, BNG and experience of delivering to ISO 5001, ISO 14001 etc.
  • Work with project team to drive sustainable delivery of CAPEX projects and ensure we meet sustainability targets.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Building System and Minor Civil works for new build and refurbishment, fit-outs and infrastructure projects and an understanding of sustainability assessments and carbon reduction methods in building design.
  • Qualification in a Building, Construction Management, Electrical or Mechanical discipline or equivalent. Preference to be affiliated to a professional institution, e.g. APM, RICS, CIOB, CIBSE.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £51,000 - £60,000 – dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
