National Grid is hiring a Senior Engineer, Engineering Project and Program Management for Massachusetts. This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations.
Job Purpose
The Asset Management Program Manager is responsible for creating and managing asset management strategies, policies and activities within National Grid to ultimately increase the company’s asset management capabilities. This position requires technical knowledge, collaboration and leadership across departments to support asset life cycle and investment strategies. The program manager will work to align National Grid’s capital investment and asset management plans and strategies with operational goals and National Grid’s Asset Lifecycle Business Management Standards (ALS BMS)
Key Accountabilities
- Technical Program Management: Organize, develop and manage strategy, program, and project management activities in assigned asset-related areas, using extensive technical knowledge of National Grid’s practices.
- Policy and Strategy Implementation: Assist in developing and implementing National Grid’s overall asset management policies, programs, and investment strategies, supporting life cycle replacement strategies, risk models, and long-term planning.
- Data Analytics: Utilize data from various operational, financial, and asset sources to develop analytics that inform prioritization of operational programs.
- Change Management: Collaborate with multiple operating areas to establish change management processes related to asset management initiatives.
- Capital Budget Prioritization: Support capital budget prioritization, as aligned with risk mitigation outcomes from analytics, facilitating optimal investment strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of four (4) years in one or more of the following fields:
- Distribution Engineering
- Distribution Operations
- Major Underground
- Substation Operations
- Substation Engineering
- Transmission Operations
- Transmission Planning
- Transmission Engineering
- Additional Experience: Some project or program management experience is a plus.
- Key Competencies
- Strong technical expertise and operational knowledge of asset management practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis, risk modeling, and strategic planning.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work across multiple projects and departments in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective collaboration with R&D and Data and Systems team to develop value-adding solutions for asset management.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and cost recovery processes a plus

Salary - $114,000 - $134,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
